Big day for my son!

Braces (at least the top ones! ) come off today!!! He can not wait......it's been 2 years, right down to the week, since they were 'installed'. Since he had a bite plate first, I really can't see him having any problem getting used to the retainer. He just has to be sure he doesn't accidentally throw it out after he eats!!

I bought him those Crest White Strips to use once they are off. Has anyone used them and can give me your opinion of them? I thought I got a good deal on them. They were $23.00 at BJ's, they offered a $4.00 coupon, there was a $3.00 man. coupon in the paper and the box came with a bonus Crest Spinbrush with replacement head.

Congrats to your son! I remember how wierd it felt to have smooth teeth again. Sounds like you got a great deal on the white strips with the coupons and free brush too!

I couldn't stop running my tongue over my teeth after I got my braces off. Congrats to him!

Hey, I just thought about this, ask the Doc about using the white strips right after getting the braces off. The places where the adhesive was may be not the best place to have the stuff in white strips on right afterwards. I don't know, it was just a thought off the top of my head, but when I had mine off, I had these little rough spots for a little while that then took some grinding by the doctor to wear down. It made the enamel a little different in those spots.

Looks like this WASN'T his day after all. The orthodonist called and said there was a problem with the retainer and it's not in! He's going to call as soon as it comes in.

Maybe it's for the best. We were to have our tree trimmed (dead branches need to be removed). They said they would give us 24 hours notice and didn't expect to be able to make it for at least 3 weeks. Guess who showed up at the door this morning?!? I had just finished hanging a yard full of laundry too!

Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed!!!
