Big Changes to our OKW Stay!! :)

I love to see that I'm not alone in the world of couples only trips! We just might have to make this a tradition perhaps! An alone trip every 2 years or so!

MORE CHANGES!

Since it's just the two of us we decided to skip the 1 bedroom and grab a studio somewhere instead. We are going to try to rent out the rest of the points and hopefully have enough to get our daughter a laptop for xmas! I got through to MS this morning at 11 am and moved us over to SSR with a request for a DTD view! I'm sad to let OKW go, but that's ok maybe we can stay there next year. We loved SSR last time we stayed there so we are looking forward to it! I broke our reservation into 2 segments so I can add 2 nights QSDP and 2 night DDP later on.

CONGRATULATIONS on the couple only trip, but please...KEEP THE OKW 1 BEDROOM! You deserve that Jacuzzi and big porch to enjoy yourselves!

When is your trip? DH and I will be there the last week of January in a GV with friends.

We gave up the 1 bedroom with jacuzzi. It was a hard choice to make and giving up the washer/dryer stinks too. We haven't stayed in a studio since 1997! We will be at SSR from Jan. 22-26! Your GV is at SSR?

We have been planning a surprise trip for our kids in January. We booked a one bedroom at OKW and can't wait! This trip is for my husband's birthday. Well....today he says..."It would be so nice if this january trip was just the two of us! That's what I want for my birthday! Since the kids still don't know about it they won't be disappointed if we say it's just us." So..he called his mom and asked her if she'd like to come out here and stay with the kids for a few days. She said she'd love to! They are super excited to spend the time with her and are totally ok with us going alone! They know we are taking them in the summer! So all the questions I've posted about high chairs and cribs and baby stuff go out the window! It's just the two of us!

Oh yah!! We did our fortieth wedding anniversary this past October WITHOUT kids, grandkids, or anyone else of any age. Just my DW and me. The kids had a surprise package waiting for us in our room. Awesome!!! Even at our age Disney is for lovers!

We were talking this morning about the things we wanted to do there since we won't have the kids and he goes.."Honey I SHRUNK THE AUDIENCE!". Awww he hasn't seen it in years since it scares the crap out of our kids and now it's not there! I guess we'll see Captain EO though.

I changed all our ADRs from the kids favorites to our favorites!! He LOVES the Biergarten but my kids hate it..so we booked that! Should I tell them to start chilling the beer steins now?! Also the new Hacienda, Yak n Yeti and we are gonna try Sci Fi for the first time!

We did an extended weekend a few years ago. With an existing AP and points, it 'only' cost food and airfare. It was a great time!

The kids apparently had so much fun going from relative to relative, they have asked us when are we going to do it again!

I'm currently ok with our studio at SSR and trying to rent the extra points! I figure since we aren't bringing the kids we could use the money for xmas gifts! So far no luck with renting. If after a week or so I might call MS and go back up a 1 bedroom!!! We'll see!

Don't you just love 2 bedroom villas?! OMG I do!! This was going to be our first time staying in a one bedroom. We have a new baby who turns 1 this month. We can only stay in one bedrooms until she's 3! haha I figure lets take advantage of the points savings for a few years!!!

My kids are grown now 30,28,24 so I have had a few years of adult only trips. WDW is great no matter how you do it and now we have a new granddaughter so it will be wonderful to see her face the first time we bring her. It is magical no matter if it is with kids or adults only. Hurray for your hubby for wanting some no kid time

We won't be empty nesters for a LONG time. It's so far in the future, but I already think about taking grandchildren to WDW someday!

We are going to have so much fun on this trip! My brother and his girlfriend live in Orlando so we are going to meet up on January 23rd. We might try Jellyrolls again and hopefully get a table this time!

No, our GV is at OKW. Our dates are the same as yours though! We arrive on the 22 and check out on the 28th.
