Big Box Meal from KFC

I rarely eat at KFC, but DH and the kiddies were gone for the day and I found myself stopping there to pick up dinner.

I was amazed at a pretty good value they have right now, called the Big Box Meal. I think they are actually suggesting that ONE person could actually consume the contents of this box (there's no way I could!) - but I totally saw a cheap way to feed my kids!

In the box, I got:

1 Snacker sandwich
1 leg
2 strips
2 individual sides (I got potato wedges and mashed potatos)
1 biscuit
32 oz drink

The meal was $8 - and I could easily feed all three of my kids with it (and probably have some left over!).

I ate the sandwich and wedges for dinner - and saved the others for DH to take for lunch tomorrow. :) I love finding a cheap(er) way to take the kids out for a treat every now and then - and you can't go wrong paying about $2.50 per child!

I noticed this too. I had hubby bring one home and my sons and I ate off the thing - lots of food for a little price--corn and strips for DS6, popcorn chicken for DS3 and the leg/sandwhich and mashed potatos for me. A great deal!

I won't buy another one, both girls got them the last time I did the drive through there. The workers shorted us, at first they said we don't have any legs, do you want an extra wing? We're like, can we just have an extra strip? When we got to the window she said " oh I found some legs. We got home and we had a leg, a strip, popcorn chicken and the side, no sandwich on either order! I"m convinced that the people that work there try to be as nasty as possible to the customers.

I picked one of these up after my DDs ballet class. Me and my mom and my DD all ate it. My mom had the leg, my DD had the snacker and I had the strips. My mom had cole slaw and I ate the mashed potatoes. DD doesn't eat potatoes, so it worked out for us!

I really enjoy KFC and on the very, very rare occasion that I would pick up take-out, it was usually KFC: regular chicken; mashed potatoes; gravy; cole slaw; and a roll.. Yum!!! :thumbsup2

I noticed this deal a few months ago. I bought it and made three meals out of it! Yum!

That sounds like a great cheap meal for a night that we're going, going, going. Throw in a piece or two of fresh fruit & we could all eat a really good meal.

ETA: The KFC website says it comes with a crispy strip, drumstick, popcorn chicken, 2 sides, biscuit & a big drink.

Sorry to make everyone hungry!popcorn::

I told DD that I had a drumstick and mashed potatoes in the fridge - and she asked if she can have them for breakfast! :lmao:

I've been getting these on days I work all day and have class at night...

I can eat some for lunch, snack on the popcorn chicken throughout my shift or if I get hungry again, and eat whatever is left for dinner on my drive from work to school..

I never used to be able to eat the whole thing, but hey... there is a hungry boy in there now, too! ;)

You guys are making me miss my KFC!!!! I used to LOVE KFC, but I am now on a reduced sodium diet and fast food chicken is a definite no-no.

I don't know. Maybe its regional? Mine came with the Snacker and not popcorn chicken.

I don't know if its regional or not. Personally I'd prefer the popcorn chicken as it would 'stretch' more than a Snacker sandwich.
I really think we're going to do this on Wednesday.

YUM.. you all made me hungry! I think I know where me and my daughter is going for lunch!! :cool1:

You must have small children!:rotfl2: My kids could probably eat this all alone. I know my teenagers could. My ten year old could easily eat the strips, biscuit and drink all alone.

I'm thinking that KFC might be better tasting in other parts of the country, because our KFC is not good at all:crazy2: . Once in a while I will see the commercials on TV and I will be hungry, so I'll ask Dh to stop and get some dinner for our family on the way home from work. It's usually a disappointment though. The chicken is mostly coating and fatty deposits - not a lot of meat. I do like the potatoes and gravy though.:upsidedow

Considering the meal itself runs about 1500 calories and nearly 4000 milligrams of sodium... you might want to split it.

It might be good for the budget but bad for your overall health. :sad1:

I'll have to check that out.

KFC did always have the best kid's meal (most food for the buck). Oldest DS is 11 and at that stage where he still likes getting kid's meals but they're not enough food for him-- even the "Big Kid's" meals. A KFC kid's meal was enough though. So. Sounds like we could split up a couple of these meals between us and easy-peasy-done.
