Whats the Big annoucement coming on thursday? Anyone know??

.... my guess is, based on absolutely no knowledge whatsover...

maybe I should not even guess. That is how rumors get started.

But I will say, I was set to buy a Platinum Pass. Now I wonder if I should wait until after the announcement.

Does anyone know???

I can't wait to find out. Fortunately Thursday is my day off so I will be glued to the computer. It is hard to believe what could be bigger than the announcements of Discovery Cove and Aquatica were.

Maybe they are going to announce all the people that receive our email get a lifetime pass! :cloud9:

According to Screamscape the rumor is that Busch will build a Busch Gardens/Sea World/Discovery Cove/Aquatica complex in Dubai or somewhere in the UAE,he also mentions something about China.Obviously part of the announcement will be about Aquatica and other developments in Sea World or Busch Gardens like Jungala and the new coaster at Sea World. But from what he says that August Busch IV will be there it's gotta be something bigger such as a new development in Dubai.

I'm skeptical about this being the announcement because it doesn't seem like something that would be pertinant to most Americans. Why would they send out tons of emails and drum up hype to announce something that most people in that audience won't ever visit? I think the announcement will pertain to the U.S. parks.

I agree that it's not something pertinent to the US but if they plan to make an announcement for it it'll probably be there along with announcements of the grand opening of Aquatica,Jungala and the rumored B&M flyer at Sea World that's already in construction. But I agree I wouldn't care much for new parks in Dubai I'm not planning any visits there anytime soon.

The announcement will not include anything about construction at Sea World Orlando. They wouldn't take any attention away from tourists coming to visit Aquatica at this point.

I do agree that this probably would not mean a great deal in the USA, but this would make me go weak at the knees. I live in the UK. There is nowhere in Europe that comes even close to Seaworld. Sure, there are places that have dolphin shows, but nothing else. Dubai is still a fair way from the UK, but as i work for a Dubai based airline and get staff travel privileges I would probably go quite a lot for long weekends if there was a Seaworld in Dubai.

Listening now...too bad....that not a big annoucement to me!

Well, the big announcement is a dud for all of us not expecting to visit Dubai in 2012.

They are building a Seaworld, Busch Gardens, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove on an island off Dubai. Expected to be finished in 2012.

It looks cool, though. The whole island will be shaped like a killer whale - Really! :sad2: I could not make this stuff up!

imagine witty comment here

my son was at the event and just called me with the news. I didn't get whether busch was putting up the money for this project or are they licensing the name like universal is doing. this is the country that is famous for manmade islands. they have three so far and considering how much oil revenue they get, I am sure the sultan will spare no expense for these projects.

I think this is a really cool idea. But the only thing I dont like about new parks is they split up all the animal families. I know over the years I have grown attached to the SWF orcas and dolphins and if and when they leave it will be really sad. :(
But its a great thing for Busch.

It will be a partnership between Busch and Nakheel PJSC,the major developer of the Palm Islands project.Nakheel will invest the capital to build and operate the parks as Busch will license their brands to Nakheel and operate the parks under a management contract.
