The Biergarten is one of only a handful of restaurants in WDW that we have not eaten at. However, the theme and entertainment seems like something we would enjoy, but the food doesn't appeal to us.

With that being said, is there a lounge only, or a segment of the restaurant that you can go in and have a beverage :drinking1 ..or three.. :rolleyes1 ...to "soak" in the atmosphere while not eating?

TIA

Try Sommerfest. It's the outside counter service that provides beer service, with a limited menu, and a nice shady sitting area to people watch. My favorite is the brat mit kraut with a Beck's. Inside is strictly restaurant - no lounge or bar area. Never tried going in and just ordering beer. Check with the host/hostess. Might be worth a shot.

We really love Biergarten and always have a great time there. Last time we went my DH was pulled up on stage and had a blast. The food isn't for everyone and the beers can get huge if you get the big one but I don't think there is a lounge area for you to sit at but maybe someone else has a different take on it.

IMHO no EPCOT experience is complete with out a trip to the Biergarten. The Becks Beer is to die for and the entertainment is great. No lounge however.
I am a very picking eater, strictly Meat & Potatoes guy, and as far as the Biergarten is concerned, food is not the main attraction here. However I found that there is enough variety on the buffet line to pick and choose enough things for anyone to fill up on. The food is a little heavy but that what makes the Becks go down so smooth. Just check the show times before making your PS so you don't sit there for a half an hour waiting for the show to begin.

I was afraid of the food being too heavy for us. We are pretty light eaters, especially in the Summer Months. I will check the show times, and make sure we maximize the time that we are there. Thanks!

When we were there last December they no longer served Becks beer. I want to say it was Lowenbrau (butchered the spelling on that one LOL) but I cant remember for sure.

The food did not sound appealing to me either, I tried a couple of items and was pleasently surprised. I then tried at least a little of everything and I enjoyed all of it! If I were you I would give it a shot, I think you will like the food.

Will do! We will go in July and report back. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and perspectives!
