Biergarten or Le Cellier for lunch?

If you are looking for lighter fare I would choose LeCellier. All German food is heavy whereas some of the menu choices at LeCellier are going to be more suitable for a lunchtime appetite.

I agree with the PP. There are more light menu items at Le Cellier than at the Biergarten. I've not had lunch at the Biergarten, but the lunch menu at Le Cellier is excellent. We've always had dinner at the Biergarten because there are a few dinner only items that my father really likes.

Le Cellier all the way! We were all pretty disappointed in Biergarten and would not choose to go back there. We LOVE Le Cellier, though!

I can't get a ADR for Le Cellier for the entire week we're there - Dec 11-17. What's up with that??!! :confused3

It's very popular, and I hear it's a small restaurant. I would keep looking because there are always cancellations.

Personally, I think I would choose Biergarten. We went to Le Cellier for lunch a few years back, and sadly, I was not that impressed. Yes, the soup was wonderful, but aside from that, the food was just good, nothing spectacular. I think at Biergarten you really get your money's worth, and the food is very good! Only downside is the band does not play at lunch.

The band does play at lunch, but the first show isn't until 1:15.

You probably can't get a reservation because it is a free dining week. Luckily, I booked my trip before the free dining week was extended, so I'll be trying Le Cellier for the first time for dinner on December 17th. :woohoo: I hope it's as great as everyone else makes it out to be. I didn't even know it existed before I joined the DISboards.

But keep trying as it gets closer to the week. :wizard: Maybe people cancel and change reservations last minute.

I would choose Le Cellier, my husband would choose Beirgarten. :) Both are great.
