Just wondering if anyone has tried bidding on priceline for Easter week. I've been bidding resort level for several weeks with no luck. It's probably a bit early to bid...but I've seen people get winning 3* bids for dates later than mine. Just curious if anyone has been successful.

no and you probably won't until a few days before you leave. (if then)

easter week is pretty popular and most resorts will hope to have people pay their rack (or close to it) rate for that week.

good luck:thumbsup2

:scared1: What dates have you been trying? I was getting ready to go bid myself.

I've been bidding resort level for 4/6/07-4/9/07.

I appreciate the advice and information from the other posters. I do frequent the biddingfortravel.com website - but it seems like people don't post there as much as they used to. The betterbidding site is really difficult to navigate/difficult to find info you need.

I am a priceline veteran and have bid every year for the last 8 years for Easter week and been successful. (Orlando: resort level and Clearwater Beach: 3*, St. Pete Beach 3*) In the past I have bid about 3 months out and been successful. Perhaps the resorts are just holding out a little longer for rack rate. What can I say???? I'm cheap and refuse to pay full price! :scared1:

Thanks to all for your input!:)

Looks like it might be a busier than normal season this year. :confused3 I'd just keep trying giving sometime inbetween bids. Hopefully something will open up for you.

Has anyone tried bidding $40 for a 3* for 4/6 or 4/7?

just be patient. of course if that is the only time I could go - I would have a back up reservation or be prepared not to go.

next month I would also try skyauction - sometimes it has last minute cancellations from RCI. (timeshares not hotels)

Just out of curiosity, what resorts do you wind up getting

In Orlando I've gotten the Hilton DTD several times and years ago Wyndham Palace-which I believe is another hotel now.

Clearwater Beach: Got the Hilton

St. Pete Beach: Got the Sirata about 4 times, Sandpiper twice.

Priceline has been very good to me--never paid over $90 for any of the resorts or 3*s on the beach. Here's hoping my luck holds out for this year because we are really trying to do a budget trip!

I am trying and getting nowhere.

How far away are the Universal Resorts from Disney?

Just got the Hyatt Grand Cypress for 135 a night. I'm happy to not be under a bridge. ;)

I just tried $40 for a 3*, but no luck. I may try a 2.5* later.

Still trying.......... bid up to $85 resort level Disney vicinity 4/6/ - 4/9/07 with no luck. Haven't had any luck bidding on the second half of our trip in St. pete Beach either. I'll just try to remember what my mother always says, "You have to have a little patience." I'M TRYING!:hourglass
