I kept going back and forth about BBB for my nearly 4 year old on our September trip. I finally decided today that we would do it - but unfortunately I waited too long and on our MK days, our choices were 6:20 and 6:40 (later is my preferred day). I didn't ask about DTD as I am not 100% sure we will make it there on this trip.

My concerns? 1) this will inevitably keep us from seeing Wishes and the Electric parade this night (and other MK night we have a 6:45 at Chef Mickeys). 2) it's so late - all that money spent to roam Disney in the dark and then go to bed and smash it all to pieces?

Anyone have anything positive about going at this hour? One positive is that while I know my little girl would enjoy it, she won't know she is missing it if we cancel. Also, anyone had any success with calling often and getting a cancellation? That is what the cast member suggested I do.

Last year I got a 6:30 BBB reservation. I think I tried calling about 8 times trying to get an earlier time, no luck including the days leading up the reservation. Everyone had the same advice, keep trying. We ended up cancelling the reservation because we thought like you did, makes no sense to only enjoy it for 2 or 3 hours.

However one CM had suggested I could also try going to MK on a day that opened early for Magic Hours and see if they could squeeze me in or if there was a cancellation. We tried to be there for rope drop but didn't get to BBB until 8:20. To our surprise they actually let us in! To be fair though I'm pretty sure there was another family there about 30 seconds ahead of us and I think they were trying the same thing, but they were turned away. No idea why we were let in, but it worked and DD got to spend the whole day having everyone call her princess

Looking back we honestly could have kept the 6:20pm reservation. I heard lots of people saying the hair can stay looking great for a few days because of the way they do it. I didn't believe it but this worked for DD if you can avoid wetting her head for a day. Next day we went back to MK with the the whole BBB get up and she looked exactly like she did the day before.

It may depend on which hairstyle you choose, but yes, our girls were also able to keep the look going for two or three days. Might have to slip a stray hair back in place in the mornings, but they put enough shellac on those hair-do's to hold them in place for a LONG time. Assuming your late afternoon/early evening appointment is relatively early in your overall trip, she'll still be able to enjoy it later. (This obviously assumes you're OK with not washing her hair for two or three nights, but again, there's so much hair product utilized that no dirt could ever penetrate it!).

As for seeing Wishes, etc., I can't imagine that an appointment at that time would cause any problems at all. You'd be out in an hour or so.

I would book it and keep trying for an earlier time. It's such a magical experience, and I would hate for your DF to miss it just because if the time. Like others said, her hair will probably still be good the next day (bring some gel and hairspray for touch ups). Put her back in her dress and you would never know she didn't have it done that day.

Nor sure why you would have to miss MSEP and Wishes. If you get the castle package, it only takes about half an hour.

My girls did BBB last yr & had a 5pm app't & even though they only had it for a few hrs that day, they slept on it with no problems & it looked the exact same the following day.

Thanks everyone! You make me feel a lot better and we are going to keep our package. It ends up being a extended evening hours day at MK so it makes me feel better about parades, wishes, etc.

Does anyone have any pros/cons about doing it at MK verses DTD? I just felt MK might feel more magical. But is there anything that makes DTD better and should persuade me to go there?

I replied to your thread on the theme park page, but here is my .02

I would keep checking for an earlier time. The best part about out BBB experience was all of the extra attention my daughter got afterwards. She dressed as Snow White, she had great interactions at CRT, with Jasmine/Aladdin (Jasmine kissed her cheek!), Cinderella's stepsisters were hilarious and teasing my DD as "Snow". Then, Snow White even left the evening parade for a moment (she walked it at the time) to come grab my DD for a big hug (although I'm sure my DD Screaming "SNOW WHITE" as loud as she could while wearing the BBB outfit helped ;)

I think the characters, and in fact, all the castmembers, go above and beyond to give the BBB girls special attention.

Oh, and my DD was 4 on the last trip, this was the highlight!!!

Our girls have done it at both places and there's not a lot of difference in the actual experience. Con of doing it in the MK is that it eats into your park time, but to a little girl, that IS part of the experience, so it might be a moot point. The flip side would be that if you have a non-park day (e.g., arrival day) and are planning to spend some DTD time anyway, that can be a good way to spend it without losing park time.
