Very curious about this. Going next year with 4 yr old DD and was wondering if it is worth getting the big package with photos, etc.? I am leaning this way but wondered what others had to say. I appreciate any input. Thanks.

I am taking my honorary niece who is 8 to BBB on halloween. If the big package with the photos and costume are in your budget I would say go for it. Especially if your daughter is really into princesses or dressing up. You could bring a costume that you bought ahead of time with you and buy a less expensive package too.

My concern about buying a costume ahead of time is that kids can be pretty fickle. I could buy my honorary niece a Cinderella costume ahead of time but I know if she had some good interaction with another princess she would find a new favorite.

I tend to agree about the costume. I think she would be disappointed if we brought one of our own. Not as much "Magic". We will be getting ressies to CRT so she can wear it on the same day. Thanks for your input.

We did the full package with our girls 3 and 5 and my nieces 7 and 8. This was the highlighty of our trip. The photos are beautiful and we all the best time. Not just the kids, but the adults too watching the joy on their faces.

I agree with OP. We did it this time with my 7yo DD. She did the Hananh Montana package. Let me tell you, it started out with just hair, then progressed to the entire outfit with photo shoot. We did bring our own costume, something totally different, and when we got there she just went nuts. It was amazing. The Fairy Godmothers were great as well. This will be the last and first time. I am so glad I let her get the outfit, it was the highlight of our day. We did MNSSHP that night and everyone said something to her. She was all smiles and so was I.

If I bring my own costume can I still do the photo shoot?
The complete package is a bit expensive & I have a Disney Store near me that has all the princess costumes (and I have a $25 coupon to use!). BUt if I can't do the photo shoot I am wondering if I shouldn't try and pack a costume & jsut get it there? :confused3

Think you can only do the photo shoot if you buy the big package. My 4 yr old DD was there a few weeks ago and we had just booked hair and make up, but by the time we got there she wanted the outfit too. So I bought the whole package and then she thought the dress was too itchy so kept it on for all of 5 minutes. Our photo shoot pictures she is wearing her shorts and vest!!! But the photos are beautiful and she has since worn the outfit since we got home, although we did swap it for Jasmine instead of cinderella. GIRLS!!!

You can add the photo shoot on to any package. My two DD' s had different packages last year. DD(11) did the castle package which included the photo shoot and DD(13) just did the hair and nail package because a) none of the costumes fit her anymore and b) she just is not into dressing up anymore but thought that fancy hair would still be cool. At the end I asked it she could have the photos also.
I dug up the reciept(yes I have folderss of every trip with everything in them including all receipts for anything!!:rotfl2: ) and on March 11,2007 I paid $29.95 to add the photo shoot to a crown package.
Both DD's had a wonderful time and they are some of the best pictures I have of the two of them together:thumbsup2 (The photographer took seperate pictures of each girl and when she realized they were sisters she took pictures of them together as well.)

We did the Castle package for our daughter last September. She was not a fan of the experience (She was very shy at that time and the FGIT we had surprisingly was not the most outgoing) but, she loved having her pictures taken at the end.
The pics came out beautiful. We are going again this December and have booked the Castle package again. DD has really come out of her shell now that she is in Kindergarten so, we think she is going to love it.

Long stort short, lol, the Castle package is definately worth it.:thumbsup2

We took our then 4 year old daughter to the BBB in January 07. I had purchased a dress on sale on the disneystore website. Her dress was lots nicer than any of the dresses at the boutique. The dresses available at the boutique seemed to be of average quality and style. Even the fairy godmothers commented on how beautiful her dress was. She had a wonderful time - it was the highlight of our trip. Afterward, we stopped by the photo center at DDD to transfer some earlier pictures onto our photopass card. The photographer saw our daughter and offered to do a photo session with her. I explained to him that we did not purchase the photo package. He said that Disney doesn't tell you this but anyone can have a photo session done for free and have it put on your photopass card. We took advantage of this and the photographs were wonderful!! Disney might have improved the dress choices since we were there. They also might now require the photo package, but it is worth asking about. Have a great time at the BBB!!

You can do the photo shoot w/ any package. The photographers will put the pictures on your photopass or you can order pictures seperately. We too a dress for my DD4 this past summer, b/c it was just too expensive to buy the big package. She didn't even notice thather dress came from somewhere else and the FGIT doesn't mention it. I have also read that even if you want to buy a dress in the park, it's still cheaper to buy one at a park shop and bring it with you.

I did the full package in DEC08 for my DD4. It was for her birthday. She was thrilled with it. She even wants to wear it again for Halloween. The best part is the pictures. They are some of the best pictures I have of her. I now regret not getting the CD so I could have given them out to everyone.

I just took my dd, 6years old, this past September to the BBB & we loved it!!! I admit it is very EXPENSIVE, IMO, but it was well worth it to see the smile on her face. Plus I only spent $15.00 on the entire package (I know you want to know how we did this). I had a $40.00 Disney reward card plus my dd took her birthday money (we arrived at Disney World the DAY of her
6th bday) & she used all of that on the BBB package. I would have spent my money, but she was willing to use hers & it also taught her a very valuable lesson. She didn't regret spending her birthday money, she tells everyone about her day at the BBB & she is so proud she used her money to buy the outfit.

my youngest dd was 4 when she had it done and she LOVED it. I think she floated on air the entire day! And the pictures are priceless.

to be honest - it was $50 but you get about $40 worth of items from the store - barrette, sash, make-up, nail polish, face gems, lipgloss, crown, etc.
