Can someone tell me what the dress selection is like at the BBB? We want to definitely book for my daughter's birthday and I'm trying to decide if we should bring a dress or let her buy one there. I think she would prefer to pick her own there, but in some of the pictures I've seen the dresses look to be cheap. Are they the same ones available from the Disney store, or are there special DW dresses? I've seen some nice ones inside the Disney store, so I'd rather pick up some ahead of time if the quality of the ones inside BBB isn't that great. I'd assume the park would have nicer ones if anything, but some of the pics I've seen looked questionable.

They have a section of dresses on the wall for her to pick. I think they have a few of every princess. I don't quite remember the quality though but I can tell you that they are extremely expensive and the dresses at the disney store are either the same if not better. The disney store had 25% off dresses a few days ago. If I were you, I'd let her go to the store to pick out the dress and tell her when she gets to BBB she will be able to pick out her tiara and makeup. Good luck and she will love BBB. My daughter had so much fun!!

Happy disneying!!:woohoo:

There are several online stores that sell similar dresses, like mydressuptrunk.com, if you don't find something you like in the Disney Stores. I've heard the Disney dresses can be pretty itchy will all that fluffy tulle! (I'm involved in theater and have had lots of experience with uncomfortable, itchy dresses, even as an adult!)

We bought our own before we went last year at Disney store (Cinderella bride). After the experience I would NEVER buy the dress there (meaning BBB). The dresses often look cheap and then you see a zillion other girls with the same exact dress. You also have sizing issues. Samantha really stood out because hers was different than everyone elses- and every cast member knew it was the Cinderella Bride dress which kind of surprised me since I only saw it at the Disney store and its not like there was a picture of Cinderella on it or anything..

We got her the Rapunzel one for this year and I can hardly wait. The best part- we could really spend our time shopping to find the "perfect" dress.

BBB downtown has quite an extensive selection. From what I remember quality seems the same as ones from Disney stores. We usually bring a dress purchase from a Disney store (can sometimes catch a sale), and as monica9 suggests, DD is allowed to purchase an accessory or two from BBB. The main reason is to cut cost. The dresses and accessories at BBB are quite expensive.

And englishteacha is right, they are a bit itchy. To avoid complaints, we always were a tee and leggings under the dress.

IMO the BBB dresses are nothing special and half the time they do not have the correct sizes so they bobby pin it to fit. Sorry, but for the amount of money they cahrge you they should have the correct size. They also run out of accessories all the time. At the one at the castle does.

Gator - My dd saw that on the website and freaked! That dress is SO beautiful! I think dh will give me the look of death if I suggest it though! That is QUITE the price tag!
