we are hoping to go to williamsburg columbus day weekend in october. what are some of the don't misses of busch gardens williamsburg and is it generally pooh-sized friendly?

are you a big coaster person yet? ;) if so, the 4 coasters there are all great. if not, there are lots of other rides for you. you have to see the shows; they're first-class. i think they're generally accessible, but don't really know. have a great time! :D

it's been a good number of years since I was there, caity, but I don't recall having a problem on any of the rides. I didn't do the big coasters, though. Hes is right, though -- the shows are fantastic.

Don't miss the Pirates 4-d show in Banbury Cross in England.
Leslie Nielsen and Eric Idle are hilarious. We just got back yesterday. The also do child swap on the rides but don't advertise it. Discount coupons for $6. per person are available at the McDonalds that is a mile west of the park entrance on route 60.

I go to Busch Gardens a lot. If you have a large bosom, you may want to forgo alpengist. Or if you do go on, use the special seats near the center of the train. The harnesses that come down and attach don't give much room to us large busted females.
You can test Apollo's Chariot before getting on. They have a test seat before you get in line. You shouldn't have any problem with the other coasters.
I have no trouble at any of the shows. Don't miss Irish Thunder if you like dancing similar to "Riverdance". They bring the dancers in from Ireland.
Pirates, already mentioned, is very good. Corkscrew Hill is a 3D simulator which in a small way reminds me of HISTA in Epcot. I say that because you are shrunk to the size of fairies and carried around in a box. It is quite bouncy though so beware if you are prone to motion sickness.
You can walk around Busch Gardens go in the shows and not go on any rides and still get your money's worth, they are that good.
The park is beautiful, shady, full of flowers and landscaping but also very hilly in some places.
If you have any other questions, I will be happy to answer them.

thanks guys. :) i can hardly wait. and yes, i am now a "big" coaster person, as for dh, i'm not sure. LOL

DH and I went in April 2001 and loved it "almost" as much as Disney.
Although we did not go on any of the roller-coasters, everything else is very Pooh-size friendly.
It is an absolutely beautiful park with all the landscape and we had no trouble walking it.
Beware of "Escape from Pompei", not only will you get soaked, but your bum actually comes right up off the seat on the way down, very scary!! :D

BGW is a excellant park!!!! The atmosphere/scereny is top notch and the park has alot of great rides/shows. As for the coasters, on Apollo's Chariot/Alpenquist ask the ride attendant which row has bigger seats. Most B & M Coasters has a row of seats that are a little larger and are made for bigger people, so if you are in doubt ask them. And if you are smaller those seats are also good as they offer more airtime on a ride like AC. Big Bad Wolf shouldnt be a problem for most people but the restraint can be tight on Loch Ness Monster and the wild mouse coaster they have.
