BEWARE Vmk Is on The War Path!!

I dont think it was for something that happened up to a few weeks ago. It was for this incident bc my friend got a 24 hour ban also.

She has not been on vmk hardly at all since her graduation back in April. I had not seen her in vmk since early June. When she came on I went to her room and said to her "hi rabbit!! hugs and more hugs" and she said to me "and many more hugs back" I made a statement to her about the churro cart she had bought and she said something about now she needed to earn some credits and then we were both gone. The message came up that I had been banned for an adult behavior or something like that. Since we both got it at the same time I am sure it was for this conversation. If it would be a month long ban I would fight it and I did write to contact us to try and clear my record. I can survive without vmk for 24 hours but its just the principle that now we have to be careful how we hug even if it is allowed.

Ok, all i have to say is that Scooter is one of my friends that I hang out with the most on VMK and I can tell you he has never been inappropriate, rude or has he done anything that would even come close to consider him to be banned. He is extra nice to evrybody who crosses his path, even when they are being rude or just plain not nice.

This ban had to be a mistake, and I think VMK owes him an apology, and possibly a pair of green flips to make upi for thier mistake!

no we didnt talk about her graduation ..either tonight or ever in vmk. What I posted was virtually our entire conversation we didn't have the chance to get to any other topics. More than likely we would have talked about the new items in vmk that she has been missing. It was just one of those things I guess. I am over the shock of being banned for my very first time ever and by 9:30 tomorrow evening I will be back on and will be much more aware of how many times I hug my friends.

I am guessing we are all guilty of hugs in vmk, I know I am as well.
I hope vmk clears this up for you soon, and your record as well.
Too many good players I know are getting banned for such silly things. Makes everyone wonder a little bit what is going on with vmk lately huh?
At least it's only 24 hours. I guess it could be a lot worse.

So sorry about your ban, Scooter! It's shocking actually. Please please update us when you hear back from VMK. We all need to know why you were banned because it would help us too. I give out hugs all the time in VMK so am very interested in hearing VMK's response.

I am sorry about your ban Scooter. I hope you get your ban reversed as I feel this is a blantant misuse of Moderator power and I hope VMK get things under control.

I notice they are not doing character bans now, they head right for the ip. I think we can thank our scam artist for that new procedure.

I think maybe anything over a 2 hour ban is now an IP ban.

I shared this with you, Rob, earlier this week and posted in another thread but also wanted to post it here.

This happened to me on my first day back from vacation.

I said to a friend:

"Great thanks, just got back from the be.each."

I was banned for 24 hours with a total IP ban for the use of vulgar language.

I contacted VMK and had the ban reversed because I in no way use vulgar language. This is the second time this has happened to me for using words to replace other words and while both bans have been reversed, the first one resulted in my lost of my CL title and at this point it has not been restored and it seems they(VMK)have chosen not to restore it. Although they said they removed the ban(s) from my record.

Good Luck getting your ban reversed. I think the VMK moderators need to read better and understand context before hitting the ban button.

Whats the difference if they ban the IP? IP bans are ridiculous anyway, they dont stop any but the ignorant since they are so easy to change unless you are at a place of business or a school

Yes it is but that is not the point. The point is banning players when they should not be banned and not banning players when they should.

Unless they have programmed into their VMK program that automatically bans a person and IP without them even having to hit a button. Is this possible techie wizards

Yep, and I think that some of the "lazy" VMK staff members turn on the autobanning system so they dont have to do any research until someone complains

I am not changing my IP either to get around the ban .. I will just wait it out .. I think I can survive till 9:30 this evening to get back on vmk. But it does seem kind of unfair for Rob to not be able to play bc they banned me for 24 hours. Luckily he made it to close last night without losing his connection and was able to play the rest of the evening. I am surprised though that when they banned the IP at about 9:30 it didn't just kick him out of the game also. I just checked email again and still no response from vmk on the ban. I know also the person who was banned with me also wrote to vmk contact us about the ban but I dont think she has heard anything either. If either of us gets a response I will post and let everyone know the results.

What is vmk coming to Mal, when we cant even say such things as beach in the game. Soon they can just print a dictionary filled with the 10 words we CAN say. If someone uses a word such as beach in a bad way why cant we just continue to report them, instead of snatching every word from our mouths.

I was banned falsely back in December for giving personal information, which I didn't, I was just helping someone with a quest. 1 month character and Ip ban.
I wrote vmk via parent form and had my ban reversed and a message from vmk the next day saying it was lifted but once I logged in I had to change my title which was odd but Parent form gets faster response.

I also wrote vmk last Tuesday about something and received a response by Thursday.

Hope you hear back from them soon and get that off your record so you can be a CL..woot

My IP ban this week could not have possibly been an auto ban as I was on the pirate dock and opened 2 games before
I went bye bye .

I would assume with an auto ban the player would disappear immediately after the "offending word" was spoken.

Well, Mal, there are alot of "possible" banning systems they could have - one could just be like a search and report function - which simply reported to them that you had said "beach" and they just clicked ban without researching - it could also be an autobanning system which would not nessecarily happen right away, but at search intervals, such as every 5 minutes or so - I cannot say which VMK has, if they have any, but the evidence sure points that way
