OK. I'll try. Last year my sister (DES1954) spotted, or more accurately CLAIMED, she saw some otters at Fort Wilderness. She started a thread about it and pretty soon, the thread got WAY out of hand. All sorts of posts like We otter get out of here, OR, It's otter control, etc, etc.

Of course Rhonda aka ROZ, closed it down, but the damage was done. We've kind of adopted the otters and they are involved in all sorts of hi-jinks. Hope that explains it.

PS -- kind of the same thing with the peacocks, but Rhonda started that one.

Eureka! I think I figured out what happen to the peacocks. When Disney bought ABC they had to get rid of the NBC images.

Deb, I spotted otters today, but they weren't at the fort. They were at the Pittsburgh Zoo! We saw river and sea otters, and I asked them all if they had any kin at FtW, and they all emphatically said NO!

So there you have it, straight from the otters mouth. The otters at the fort are a figment!

Weather permitting, I'm going to go to FtW Saturday & do nothing but ride the resort boat from FtW, to CR, to WL all day & ask the captain to go on a trek to find the otters! It's now my quest to seek the "Holy Otter Grail"!!
