Which was not cooking the books either. It was negligence. There are too many audits taking place for "cooking the books" to be real, IMO

We're heading to Aulani tomorrow (yay!) I'll be a little disappointed if the lazy river isn't warm enough for me, but I"m not going to let it ruin my vacation.

I did want to add though to the discussion regarding Disney not spending money to fix things. I work in food manufacturing. There still are huge supply chain issues going on that are affecting almost every company. There is an incredible shortage of replacement parts, things like motors, pumps, etc., where lead times are ridiculous. We're talking 6-8 months for things you used to be able to get in a week or two. So it may not be Disney not wanting to spend the money - they just can't get replacement parts to fix things. I don't know for sure, but I just wanted to throw it out there.

Well, the two level hot tub is still down, and probably will be for the duration of your stay. Apparently they’re checking all the hardware shops on the island for the replacement part they need.

My issue, though, is that this resort is not some small mom and pop operation. It should be within the capabilities of a multibillion dollar corporation to have whatever part they need overnighted from the mainland. If Bob Iger were coming this weekend to watch American Idol, I bet you they’d get it fixed.

I agree their engineering department should have field spares of everything they need.

They really should. The resort is pretty much immaculate, which makes me think it’s less cheapness than incompetence.

It's definitely warming up; we noticed this too. Seems like people need to keep pressuring the hotel to keep it warm.

Maybe it’s like Monsters Inc and the pool is actually heated by guest complaints!! I’m sorry—IDK why that hit me when you said that.

It’s really not funny at the prices. If I’m ever at a resort, Disney or otherwise, who charges a resort fee and then some of the amenities are not available, I do ask for a partial refund of that fee. And I usually get it.

Any updates on the pool temperatures? We are head there in a little over a week. I’m trying to decide if I should buy a wetsuit for my 3 year old who can’t do cold pools. Seems crazy to bring a wetsuit to Hawaii, but we are going for the pools.

It’s still very nice…and they just got the adult hot tubs working again.

But, how would that work with DVC? We’re not charged a resort fee, or, more accurately, it’s just included in our points.
