Beware of Quality Inn and Suites!!

We had been warned about them trying to up rates and charge extra charges at this hotel. It was a nice clean hotel in a decent location to the parks. but on the 2 last night of our stay we went to go back to the room our keys didn't work. Checking at the front desk they said we were suppose to check out that morning! We were like:confused3 . They said they had been nice enough to keep our room for us and lower the rate from what it should be that night but was still more than what I had booked it at. Until I could find my reservation sheet we had no choice, So i checked our res and we had booked it until the next day. I shoed it to them and asked to see the sheet I signed at check in but of course they refused to show it to me and just said they would adjust the rate. No apology or anything. I asked why they had assumed we were checking out that morning and they said that the manager George had told them we were and they changed it in the system! Never again. As a result this pushed us over the edge and we joind Disney vacation club so at least we know what we are getting!

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Ugh, that sucks and it's crazy that they would change it in the system and lock you guys out! I would have been so mad! :worried:

Atleast an apology would have been nice. Maybe you should write a letter to management? :hug:
 
OMG. I would have thrown a fit! I would have been on the phone with upper-management immediately. What nonsense!!!! Quality Inn is definitely going on my list of hotels to avoid!
 
Yeah I was pretty mad. I will never stay at a quality inn again! Even if they had apologized would have beennice but they couldn't even offer that!
 

WOW i would have been pissed!!!! I can see coming back from a long day and then wanting to have a good finish to trip but now that i was home they better watch out :furious: ............ I would be bring up some BIG BIG trouble!!!! :stir: no sorrys no nothing :mad: ...... thats just horrible bussiness skills!!!

I would report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce too.
 
I had a horrible experience and a Quality Inn in St Louis MO. When I went climbing the corporate ladder to complain guess what I found out?.... Their owned by the Hilton!!

Took the words right out of my keyboard. That was SOOO smart of you to have your paperwork, but still so disgusting that they tried to pull that smarmy crap!

(Imagine how many people they've accomplished it with?! :furious: )
 
You really need to let corporate know. A lot of these hotels are independently owned but must follow the policies and procedures of the corporation. I know this because we are part owners (through a family trust) of a Quality Inn in Las Cruces, NM. The family owns the hotel, but must run it according to Quality Inn standards. There are periodic checks and unannounced inspections by corporate to make sure that we are adhering to their standards. If the owners of this hotel are trying to play games (and it sounds like they are), then you really should notify corporate.
I am not sure what the results will be, but at the very least, someone will be made aware of their shady practices.
I also think that your post serves as a good reminder to ALWAYS keep you paper work with you, even after you have checked in.
Sorry for your experience, but glad you were able to keep the rate you had originally booked!
 
I am going to let corporate know about this situation. This was the quality inn on Manchester Ave by the parks. I will also be posting on trip advisor. I really don't want any one else to be taken advantage of. And yes always keep all your paperwork!
 
Thank You, I was looking at the Quality Inn in Buena Park and wanted to make sure it wasn't the same one. Altho I did more looking last night and found a different hotel in BP that we may stay at, or the Super 8 near DL. :)

I also always have my travel docs with me every trip, you never know what's going to happen. I hope corporate can help and please also post your review on Trip Advisor, that will help keep others away!
 
This is kind of a bummer to read. I visited that place a few weeks ago, and really liked how they are laid out, especially since they are an economy place.
 
yikes, I would definitely call a corporate rep about this! So shady!
