Sorry long-

This place was a nightmare. We arrived around 8:00 PM for a three night stay and dropped our stuff at our room and went to DTD. Room was warm, but the AC was not set on cold so we set it and left. Came back at 11:00 and room was warmer than before and now also very humid. After about 30 mins. we finally got moved to a new room. The girl working did not pay attention and put our highly allergic family in a smoking room. We were going to just stay in it for the night and switch the next day because we were already tired and had our three daughters with us (9, 5, 1) but we realized that the bath tub was rusty and had very sharp edges and no drain stopper. Around the same time, she also decided to let a very large group of high school spring breakers back into the pool that had closed at 11:00. They were being extremely loud and rude. We then got moved again and were told that we would have that night free due to our problems and she would take care of informing the manager of that.

The next night we were all asleep by around 10:30. At 12:30 our door comes crashing open. We had flipped the safety lock so the door could only open about five inches. The person then started slamming it open as if they were trying to break in. We then hear a loud, "What the he**! Oh sh**!!!" and the person closed the door. Everyone in the room woke up and we were all frightened. Try calming down three young girls after something like that. I called down and the guy was very confused and very accusingly (like I did something wrong) questioned me as to why I was in that room. He told me that I was supposed to be in another room. Someone messed up during the day shift and switched us to a fourth room, never told anyone about it, and put our room back on the market. We had not even had maid service that day (by our choice). He said he was very sorry and did not know how this could have happened. He was not able to do anything for us, but said he would leave a note about the incident for the manager.

The next morning I decided to go talk to the manager. She had not heard of my problems for either night and said that I was lying about being moved that many times and about the spring breakers. She said she walked the property the night we arrived at 11:30 and everything was quiet. We knew she was lying because we had asked to speak to the manager at 11:00 that night and we were told that she had already left for the night. She told me that the most she would do is $5 off each night, "But you really don't deserve it." The only other thing that we could do is call Days Inn's 800#. (which I had to pay $.87 a call to reach). They were closed b/c it was Sunday.

Needless to say I was a little upset. I remained quiet but told her that her offer was unacceptable especially since I had been offered more off already. She told me that that was all she would do and if I would not stop bothering her, she would call the police on me. We started packing up our things to leave and she called us to say that she talked to her manager and they would be willing to take one night off if we vacated immediately. I accepted and decided to dispute the remaining charges throught the credit card company. I was a little offended that through the whole stay they acted like we did something wrong. The manager's name was Angela if I remember correctly. I would avoid this place at all costs.

We stayed our last night at ASMu and had a wonderful time.

I'll second it. Don't stay there. We stayed there the night of the 13th for one night only. My DS and family met us there. We were going to ASMo the following morning so only needed two rooms for one night as we arrived there late afternoon. It was really bad. The curtains were mildewed. The knobs on the air fell off and it didn't work. My DS had to call down to the front desk about 11:30 that night also as the noise from the pool was excessive and keeping the two kids awake. The toilet overflowed in DS's room and when he called they told him it would take a while to get someone there. We left before they came. Also it stated "Free Continental" breakfast. When we left at 7:00 we still saw no breakfast being served. The only thing that was even decent was that they took $10 off our bill for our "inconvenience".

What you dealt with was highly unacceptable. I would get in touch with their corporate offices and file an immediate complaint. Sheesh, what a nightmare!

We stayed the nights of the 14th and 15th. It must have been the same group in the pool making noise. They left on the 15th.

The bkfst was nothing to brag about. Fruit salad, danishes, small hard bagels, toast, juice, and coffee was about it.

Ukcatfan....your stay sounded erriely familiar to ours there 3 years ago.. I had booked a stay for one night before we moved to our DVC timeshare at the BWV. The room was very musty, the bathroom was gross..but I figured we would muddle through because the rate was so good. At about 12am someone tried to get into our room....not just bang on the door but actually open it....I called the front desk immeditaely stating that they had just sent someone to our room...They denied it....Well when I got home it took a few letters but I requested my whooping $45 to be returned and they finally did it...

There seems to be alot of problems with Days Inn's in Florida. I would avoid them like the plague.

   Absolutely HORRIFIC story!!!! Don't let them get away with it. I would write to their Head Office and quote the names of the manager and any other staff member that you dealt with. The manager certainly sounds like she shouldn't be in that job! Good Luck with your complaint.

I would copy and paste that entire story into a letter to their corporate offices and cc the better business bureau and my credit card company!

:)

Called the police on YOU???? I'm in shock! As if somone with three tired little girls has nothing better to do than stay up half the night making up stories! I would request your ENTIRE stay back-especially since they asked you to leave.

You should have called the police both nights (for the noise and for the intruder)-the you would have a police report to send in when you ask for your refund.

I am so glad you liked the ASMU and hope you stay onsite from now on!

Oh, this is awful. I hope you write Day's Inn home office and request your entire refund back plus some for "mental stress" for your family.

Is this the big Days Inn on #535 near dt disney entrance?

Don't give up on onffsite hotels. I have never had a bad one yet in the LBV vicinity. There are some wonderful Marriotts, Sheratons, Country Inns.

herc.

That place sounds like a real cess pool. What a horrible stay.. Definately don't let this drop. You should not have had to pay for anything.

I accidentally walked into someone's room once at the Hyatt Orlando. I got a little lost (the corridors all look the same) and used my key on 'our' room. The door opened, no problem. I walked in, sat down on the bed and started noticing things that weren't mine were there and my things were missing. Freaked me out BIG TIME. I left immediately. Thank goodness, I didn't wander in when someone was there, they would have thought I was breaking and entering. Needless to say we double locked our door the remainder of our stay and it was my last visit there....

This one is on 192. I think the address is around 5400 or so if I remember correctly. I do not have my paperwork with me right now. It is a few blocks down from Vineland Road that leads to DTD.

I have already sent out to my CC company and I am going to write to the health department, the state hotel board, Days Inn Corporate, and the franshisee of this location.

Thank you for all the support.

It sounds as though you stayed at Days Inn eastgate... there is also a Days Inn Maingate East. They are within 1 1/2 miles of each other on the same road. I have stayed at the Days Inn Maingate East multiple times. I have been able to get better rates at the other but have elected not to stay there. People should just know that there are 2 very close, with similar names. The one we've stayed at isn't a 5 star hotel. But it is clean, pretty modern (recently remodeled), very cheap and centrally located. Also, never had noise issues there.

I can say Day's Inn is real bad about giving free nights or refunds. We had a problem with another Day's Inn in PA and we couldn't get no where. The room was really over priced and filthy. The whole town was booked so we had to take what we could get. I sent letters to the hotel itself, to their headquarter, to the BBB, and to the Chamber of Commerce for the town. I didn't get one single response.

All of them are actually owned by different companies and they are actually the ones who authorize any refunds. The two on 192 that are so close are each owned by a different company.
