The DDP says non alcoholic beverage...does anyone know if this would include:

Chefs de France - Oragina or Lorina

Tutto Italia - Aranciata, Limonata, Melograno Splash, any of the "fancy" coffees

Akerhus - Voss Artesian Water from Norway

Kouzzina - Mega-Berry Smoothie, Frappe

Thanks for any info...I'm such a freak I like to plan to the last detail!!!

Tutto Italia - Aranciata, Limonata, Melograno Splash, any of the "fancy" coffees Again, we were told no, only regular fountain soda. We could have the "fancy" coffee as dessert if we wanted (assuming you're talking about cappacino & such.)

Akerhus - Voss Artesian Water from Norway Can't help you here

Kouzzina - Mega-Berry Smoothie, Frappe Can't help you here, didn't ask

Hope that helps

Thanks Catne. I figured that might be the answer. Good thing I have a coke addiction!! Diet Coke that is...;)

you're welcome!

I'd ask at Kouzzina, because a lot of the restaurants will allow the fruit smoothies & "virgin" drinks, and milkshakes as the DDP beverage (The Wave, Le Cellier, Sci Fi are a few that do for sure.)

The fancy bottled water is probably a "no", too...most of the Disney restaurants (non-world showcase anyway) have expensive bottled waters like Perrier on their menus & do not allow that for the DDP beverage so I'd guess Norway will not either.

While I do recognise that these drinks are more expensive than regular Coke products, I think that if Disney says in their DDP brochure that a non-alcoholic beverage is included, you should be able to get anything.

I reckon if someone was willing to talk to a manager about these things they would probably be able to get the drink they want, although is it worth the trouble?

Good luck with that - won't hurt to ask but my guess is the managers will tell you these drinks are not dining plan drinks because they are specialty beverages. And in the case of Tutto & Les Chefs, these are not even "Disney" restaurants - the extent of their "magic" is only what they have contracted with Disney to provide - which is not specialty drinks. Typically you will find the most "leeway" on the allowed beverages in the restaurants that are actually owned & operated by Disney (like the ones I mentioned.) But in any case, don't think you'll get imported bottled beverages as your dining plan beverage no matter which restaurant you're in there...just too big of a cost difference there.

The beverages the OP is asking about at Tutto & Les chefs are priced on the menus far above the cost of fountain beverages & regular coffee/tea. For example, at Les Chefs - the fountain cokes are $2.95, but the Orangina is $5.50. Obviously not apples to apples there. Even the cappacino is $1 more than regular coffee. The specialty drinks at Tutto are all at least $1.50 more than fountain soda. Some of the bottled waters are $6.95-$7.95 a bottle in the Disney restaurants. Again, not comparable prices to the dining plan beverages.

I kinda figured that these "specialty" drinks were not included but I do recall people saying that some places (such as Le Cellier) will allow other beverages. It isn't really a big deal, if we want to try something that much we will pay out of pocket. Some of the drinks are not that unusual and we drink them here (Orangina) but we are bringing my 19 year old DD and she always wants something funky that isn't part of the plan.

Thanks for the replies. I love the planning part of trips but we have been to Disney so many times now the only thing left for me to plan is meals so I started obsessing over the menus right down to desserts and drinks!!

This is funny...that's exactly why I have quite a bit of experience with do/don't allow the funky drinks...from three trips with my now-adult DD. First was her high school grad. trip in 2007 at age 18, followed by 2008 & 2009 when she was a 19 & 20 yr. old. With friends on the 2008 & 2009 trips, so had multiple young-adults asking for the odd drinks on the menus. Since none of them were "legal" they seemed to be very interested in making it look like they had a frozen cocktail. Course now that they're legal, they just order beer, lol.

What was a bit irritating is at many places the same drinks are on the menus, but one restaurant would allow it, the next would not. That happened when we were at Yak & Yeti (non-Disney restaurant) and 1900 Park Fare (Is a Disney-owned restaurant)...neither would allow the non-alcoholic smoothie type beverages on the menu as the DDP drink. But then Le Cellier did - and one of the smoothies was on the menus at more than one place (I want to say it was a green-apple or some flavor like that.) And then, at one place --think it was Sanaa -- there were two different fruit smoothie-type drinks on the menu, and they would allow one of them as the DDP beverage, but not the other. (Think it was the mega-berry smoothie that was not allowed--explanation was that one involved fresh fruit ingredients so was not priced the "same way".) On the 2009 trip, DD's friend asked everywhere about the fancy bottled mineral water and that was turned down every time. A couple of places also had the cheapie bottled water they sell everywhere -- they would have allowed that.

So I guess the lesson is you have to ask...and maybe you'll get it. The dining plan brochure does not say that "any non-alcoholic beverage" is allowed. It doesn't actually specify which ones are allowed. Just says "non-alcoholic beverage" so that does leave some leeway for interpretation on both sides of the fence.
