Beverages on DDP

We'll be on the DDP and plan on purchasing "adult" beverages for most of our TS meals. I'm curious if restaurants charge you the difference in price, or just charge the full amount of the "adult" beverage. I'm assuming the charge the full amount, in which case, would it be wise to still order a soda or included beverage as well to get the full value? (DF will drink them, so it wouldn't be a waste.) Thank you!

Full amount.

It's up to you as to whether you order your included beverage to feel as if you're getting your money's worth.

Alcoholic beverages are not included on the dining plan so you will have to pay the full price of the beverage out of pocket.

I often ordered a Sprite (or mineral water at places that allowed this on DDP) as the DDP drink and then a beer or wine OOP.

if they have a cappuccino or latte are those included?

I think that they were at some restaurants, but I cannot say for sure. I seldom ordered them, but I know other family members did, and I don't take care of the check. That is usually my DD's job to manage it and tack on the tip.

I do know that pressed pots of coffee were included at Narcoossees when we last had dinner there.

I just noticed that. totally having wine with dinner and saving that beverage for the pressed pot coffee. Though I feel like I have seen reports on coffee being included even if you had a soft drink with dinner. I would have soft drinks with most buffets but am planning on wine with my nicer signature dinners. Maybe even a cocktail. We are planning on staying til midnight at the MK so might be glad for the caffeine boost!

Only one time was the coffee charged when someone had ordered soda with dinner. This was just a plain cupof coffee. I was kind of shocked, we had bumped that tab up a lot with celebratory bottles of wine and cocktails. Not to mention 4 OOP meals not on the DDP.

that is pretty chintzy to do. It may have been at buffets that I was thinking where it is unlimited non alcoholic beverages included (except of course for the specialty stuff) where you get both a soft drink and a cup of coffee. or juice and coffee in the mornings.

No, I think it depends on the server. WE were at two tables at the Coral Reef and had two different servers. And TWO really different experiences. WE had decided to celebrate my DH birthday there, and he was so touched he was ordering whatever anyone even though about.
