We'll be taking a day off from the parks on our next trip and I'm contemplating a pool/beach day at Dolphin. Given our fondness for beer and the prices for same at the pool bar, this could be expensive, so I'll be toting a cooler of the golden nectar with us. Is this allowed, or will I have to disguise our refreshment in can holders or cups?

I know I read this some place --it's ok as long as you pour the beer into a cup.

We will be staying at the Dolphin next month and were thinking of purchasing our own beer and trying this.

In Jube at the YC we had a very small collapsible cooler, held about 6 cans or so,by the pool without any problems. My husband had a couple of beers in full view and noone said anything.
we did it for the convenience. the waitress was very busy and it was a long wait for drinks.

I have used the following strategy at the Polynesian pools for several years. I usually purchase a six pack at the Grog Hut and use those heavier plastic WDW laundry bags as a temporary cooler. Filled with ice from the machines in our longhouse, the ice lasts long enough to keep things cool during the afternoon. What ever is left over goes back in the room sink with some new ice. I simply keep the cooler bag under my chair/lounge poolside, and have never had a problem.

During last Feb. while staying at the BCV, I purchased my beverages ;) at the gift shop, placed the cans in my collapsible cooler, and added ice from the hotel's ice machine. (My cooler holds 9 cans, so there's room for enough ice to keep those puppies nice and cold!) I then headed off to SAB and enjoyed a nice break from the parks. :D I didn't feel the need to hide anything and drank from the can. (I decided to do this after ordering a beverage at the pool and was handed a can--figured I could save lots of $ purchasing a 6-pack and carting it around myself.) ;)
