Better to use a travel agent?

I am an East Coaster who visits WDW regularly. I have always enjoyed hunting for (and always finding) great deals to play/stay/dine on Disney property. My family is now contemplating a Disneyland visit. Looking around, I don't see very many "deals" to be had. Our trip would be in 2016 so I know that booking now is out of the question but with such limited DL options, is it better to use a travel agent? Do they tend to have rates unavailable to the general public? Has anyone had a great experience with an agent for a DL trip? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

in this day and age, travel agents unfortunately are becoming a thing of the past...even for international travel... like anything there are benefits for and against for using one.. I guess it depends on what you need one for..

Disneyland is a lot less work to prepare for than WDW..

I agree that DL is alot less work to plan than WDW. I find that I can DIY it for alot less than what a TA will charge me. If I hunt for seat sales online, I can score a cheap deal on flights, then it's a matter of finding a hotel that suites our needs and booking it. For DL I book things myself, and am even seriously considering doing this for our trip to WDW in Jan/17. I've found that the prices on flights are very similiar between a TA and the airlines online sales. The difference would be if you booked a package deal with the TA, but bear in mind that airlines offer air/hotel deals as well.
