Better to drive own car or take Uber/Lyft from WDW to Universal?

Looking for help deciding best strategy for a 1-day trip from WDW to Universal in October. We will have a car on this trip, but I was wondering if it would be faster/easier to just use Uber or Lyft. We plan to go to both Universal parks and use Express Pass on a non-HHN day, but we won't get early entry since we aren't staying onsite there (will be at CBR). Thanks for any help!!

I would drive. Lyft is going to cost you more than parking will. Plus when you want to leave you can just jump in your car and go. Getting there is easy. Just a very short 20-30 minute trip down I-4.
Thanks!

And if you hate driving on I-4, like we do, you can take Palm Parkway instead. From CBR, head toward and then past DS, turn left onto Hwy. 535 and then right onto Palm Parkway. Stay on Palm Parkway when it changes name to Turkey Lake Road, and that takes you right up to UOR.

Parking is at least $25. We took a Lyft suv for OI meetup and it was $17 plus tip each way. It was a bit of surge pricing because previous trip was $12/14 plus tip. We ordered the return Lyft on the way out of the park and it was there when we arrived at the top of the parking garage.

I have a bit of night blindness so the cost was worth it. But I agree that the drive is not that far and if you have no impediments it will be less $$ to drive yourself.

I've seen this route mapped out before, but never taken it. I might try it next time. I-4 is a nice straight shot, but it can be a bit nerve-racking when there is heavy traffic or construction.

When is there not heavy traffic or construction? :rotfl2:
