Better to avoid morning EMH or not?

When you do the simple math of how many people are eligible for EMH, It is, has been, and will continue to ALWAYS be a good Idea to do EMH. In less than 1 hour at DHS during EMH, you can ride, Toy Story, RnRC, ToT, and Star Tours and still leave before the park opens to everybody else.

Here at the moment, did EMH yesterday morning, and will of course do it tonight after dinner :)

Nickcirc, At what time of year are you able to do this?
Would this work for early to mid June?
Can you really get so much done at all the parks during that time?
That would be great if it does!

Thanks, YO

I personally hate morning EMH's. We have only been twice(not morning people on vacation). I was tired and felt in a rush to "hit everything" before the "masses" entered.

I love AM EMH - I plan my mornings around these parks and don't worry about crowd prediction calendars. I find that I can do most everything I want before the park actually opens. At HS I can typically get TSMM, RnRC, TOT, and ST in and Epcot its not a problem to get both Soarin' and Test Track. At MK I am usually able to ride PP and then SM a few times before the other lands open. And at AK I can do the Safari, EE, and Dinosaur and get ready to leave as other guests are just getting to the park. That being said, I walk really fast, don't care to stop for pictures, and typically am with a small group. Also, I almost never stay in the EMH park past noon. I'm a big fan of park hopping so I get the big attractions done and then get out and go to another park to get the smaller attractions done. I think morning EMH can be even more helpful now that fastpass+ starts in the first hour of park opening. If I am remembering correctly, most of the old fastpasses I got at park opening didn't have a return time until 40-45 minutes after park opening.

The only EMH we now ever hit are PM EMH if every other park is closed. Those hours to us are always "extra".

Our mornings are judged by what we can do before lunch (12:30/1 pm), not 8 am - 9 am and we have found through trial and error that we can get more done in recommended parks the day after they have EMH.

We really like the AM extra hour. We get to the park and do several rides before the regular park hours start. My kiddos are early risers so it totally works for us!

Morning EMH is a :thumbsup2 from us. We have often visited during Christmas week, and even then, it's been a huge plus. We used to get our headliners done in the first hour and grab a fp…now our plan is the same, except we'll book our FP+ later in the morning or for another park later in the day.

We are park hoppers, so our regular plan (especially Christmas week, with the crowds) is to pick the EMH AM park, start there, and then hop out when the crowds start making us crazy (usually between 10-11) and go to lunch somewhere (with an ADR) or back to the hotel for a swim, and then out for dinner (at a different park…generally Epcot.) And we have no expectations for rides at the second park…usually about dinner, fireworks, shopping.

It's all about expectations. But I think if you are willing to wake up early enough…am emh is a must do!

We have always used morning EMH. We get a lot done in the hour and the first hour the park is open. We find evening EMH to be different. We often still see hour long or more waits for headliners - I've never seen that for morning EMH. We do evening EMH if we happen to be in that park but we don't make it essential like we do for mornings. Example, the one year I had to go in July for work, we hit morning EMH at HS. We were able to do TSM, RnR, and ToT all before 9:00. At which point I grabbed a cab to work and DD and DH took their time with other things in the park before they went park to hotel for a swim until I came back from work.
We never use crowd predictors and don not plan to for our upcoming trip next month.

One thing I've found that's important to check regarding EMH is which attractions will be open. Not all of them are, especially for morning EMH!

We once went to a morning EMH at MK and were very disappointed that many of the major rides were closed. Most of the rides that were open were "kiddie"" rides in Fantasyland, plus a couple in Tomorrowland. It ended up being sort of a waste of time for us, since our party is only adults. We were bummed that we got up so early!
