i am trying to decide on a long weekend trip but want to choose a time when park is less crowded! Choice is January 18-21 or February 2-5? Please help! Thanks!!!

Your mid/late January dates will probably be less crowded.

Both seem to be about the same crowd level wise. MLK is a few days before the January dates, but Superbowl Sunday is the 4th of Feb.

I see a lot of conflicting information on the subject. Some say it's slow, others that it has little effect.

FWIW I don't think Superbowl has any effect on park crowds.

Both sets of dates will be similar. UT shows 4-4-5-5 for Jan dates and 5-5-5-3 for Feb dates.

We've been at Disney during the Super Bowl. Did not notice any impact whatsoever.

I would pick the February date if it were up to me. Any week where there is a national holiday tends to be more crowded because people take the "free" vacation day. So the MLK week will likely be a bit more crowded than the early February week.

I would suggest February also - for the same exact reasons. In addition, many college breaks are still going on during your January dates which brings families with college-aged children to Disney during that MLK week and the few weeks following New Years day in general. All colleges are back in session by February.

I'd do the non MLK weekend too. Have fun. I love the long weekend trip. I'm never in Orlando long, but I do like to get their annually. I usually do a four night / three stay trip once a year, and that's just so much fun and a perfect get-a-way IMHO.

There is no less crowded anymore, lol. Check the events going on in WDW around those times. That's gonna be your only way of making an educated guess.
