Hi - which is a better time to go? The last week of February after Pres. Day weekend or the first week of March before all the Spring Breakers are there? We're thinking of a 5 day trip - we appreciate any input and ways to save money on lodging. Thanks :earsboy:

According to the 2004 UOG (pg.32), "Late Feb, March and early April are dicey. Crowds ebb and flow according to spring-break schedules and the time of Presidents' Day weekend." In additon, Feb and March are considered good weather months.

I've never been to WDW during those months so I'm limited to literature. I responded because you posted this yesterday and nobody has touched it yet. Hope this helps you out a little. :)

Although I've never been to WDW in late February/early March, both are considered to be busy times. Most schools have their spring break between President's Day and Easter, so it can get crowded at any point during that time.

Weather wise, early March is better. It's warmer, but not as hot and opressive as summer.

Enjoy! :)

Hello,

We made our first trip to WDW during the first week of March 2004 - and it was wonderful. Not sure if what we experienced was 'typical' but it has me wanting to go back only during that time again!

Our DD was in preschool, so taking her out for the week was not a huge deal. The crowds were nice and managable, the weather couldnt of been better. warm during the day (not a cloud in the sky), light breeze at night. not a drop of rain.

We just missed the aniticapted crowds as spring break began the weekend we left.

We love early February! We went a couple years ago and are going back next year. The weather is great, the crowds are low, and it's even value season for resort rates.

I highly recommend it!

When I was single and going to Disney 2xs a year I ALWAYS went down for Valentine's Day. My birthday is on the 16th and the parks are done so nice for V-Day. The weather is great, the crowds are non existant and I would venture to say it's my favorite time of year to go to Disney World.

OT - But you share my 16 year old DD's B-day. Mine happen's to be Valentine's Day and my Anniversary is the 25th. We are celebrating all three of these when we go down on the 17th for two weeks! Stupid I know, just thought I'd share.

On Topic - I agree about early to mid February. Low crowds, pretty good weather, good times!

We've also been during President's Week, the week after and the 1st week of March. Out of these three, the week after was the least crowded. But by far WAY better earlier in February!

I went last year from March 1-5 and it was PERFECT. I couldn't have asked for better weather. The crowd was even small. It was perfect each and every day. Not a drop of rain and hardly any waiting in lines. I will try and go back at that same time every year!! Hope this helps some.

we've gone the last wk of feb/first week of march for about 2 -3 yrs now.
a trend we've noticed for the last 2 yrs is that the last week of feb is quieter and cooler. the first week in march gets busier and warmer.

unfortunately this year i'm on a school schedule and have to go president's week. i'm a little scared!

Crisn,
my husband thought he had it bad with my favorite holiday (v-day) and my birthday being only two days apart! I feel awful for your husband! Sheesh!
I think that week is the best time to go down. In fact, we have decided that our next trip will be in February of 2006. The new baby will be about 8 months old and PJ will be 2 years old. If I have to chase a toddler, let it be in the cooler weather down there!

I think we're gonna shoot for the first week of March - DD has a day off from school that week ;) Thanks again! :earsboy:

I went early Feb. and I am sold on that time of year as well. The crowds were almost non-existent...the longest that we waited in any line at MGM on that Sat. (which I'm sure is conidered the busiest day of the week)...We used the fast pass and waited no more than 30 min. on any ride. Well, to put it into perspecitve, we went to MGM on a Thru. night about 45 min. before the park closed and rode Tower of Terror and the Rockin' Roller coster and had plenty of time to walk around and explore before it closed. We are going the first week of Dec. this year after our first Disney Cruise and I hope that we are as lucky thist time!!!

It can be too cold to swim in February. How important are the pools to your vacation?

(Yes, the pools are heated.)

Our kids are both in college now so we are going down during their breaks ... they are about 3-4 weeks before their traditional HS breaks ---- so, in 2005 we will be there Feb 26 thru March 11. I'm a little concerned about the temperature, because we do like to spend a lot of time at the pool soaking up the Florida sun ... but I realize that that time of year can be hit or miss so we'll just keep our fingers crossed.

We were at WDW this year the week before Easter (early April)and the crowds were the worst we've ever seen, so Feb/Mar 2005 has got to be better!!!!

chrisn and DWhittles,
Had to pop in and say we are celebrating our 20th on Feb. 16 and dh's 41st birthday on Valentines Day. Hope to be in "THE WORLD" at that time!
