I do have it booked, I just cant quite figure out what is going on with the coupon.

8/14 @ 7:30 pm to 8/24 @ 4:30 pm

Executive Service so I pick a full size and get the mid size rate.

If you can figure it out, I owe you one...:worship:
Well ... I couldn't help you :(. It takes the whole amount out for 7 days, but not 10. I do hope you have a car booked at $220 because it's up to $236 today :scared1:.

The rates went up since yesterday with this code. Yesterday I got a rate of 157.00 for a compact 10 days sept. Which is a good rate.Today the rate went up $25.00. It would be over 400 with taxes for the same week using the Costco discounts. So it is still a good price. I am hoping the rates are so high because it is so far away, it is off season.

And, of course, I waited until today to book my car. I KNEW my dates but was complacent. Oh well.

For anyone who has used the 67 code, could you please post what is printed at the bottom of your receipt? Over on flyertalk.com, it has been mentioned that the receipt from the 57 code says... "TQ3 TRAVEL SOLUTIONS COMPLIEMENTARY"

Maybe we have the 57 and 67 switched!

My receipt does not mention anything about the code, only that it is the contract ID. No mention of what the code is for. :confused3

I have 2 reservations - one with 57 and one with 67. Neither says anything about TQ3 or complimentary. I checked the reservation that was emailed to me as well as viewing the reservation online.

I think the flyertalk folks are talking about the actual receipt, (when you rent) not the confirmation you receive online.
Most of the flyertalk folks think these two codes are from Travel solutions, with one adding the words complimentary.
(They base that on what has been printed on their receipts.)

I have a question which may be weird. Say I rent a car with Nation using the '57 ' code. Even though they provide insurance I bought insurance from some other company say progressive or gieco. Now say there is an accident and National will not honor insurance claims since I am not eligible to use the code '57'. can I fall back on the insurance I purchased, or will they walk away too saying that I did not deny national's insurance at the time of rental.

Thanks

Does anyone have the link to the current National $35 coupon, ND2119071Q ? I would like to check the min/max terms.

There is no link to this coupon. It is an ecoupon and has been used successfully many times with no printout. This site has the best details:
http://www.carrentalsavers.com/national.html.

I am not 100% sure why the contract ID reverses coupons, it may be based on some parameters within the contract ID set up. You can always try different coupons or slightly different times or vehicle classes. Many of the entertainment coupons seem to work when others do not.

This gets into how comfortable are you with risk-very personal. My CC give great protection, but I won't have that if I accept the "free" insurance. For me, it's not worth it. No judgments-we all have different risk tolerance. (I'm no expert, but I believe when I sign the contract, that includes insurance, I've accepted theirs, period. If there is a problem, it's up to their audit to determine if they will cover me or not. If I can't prove I am eligible for the discount and free insurance, I figure I'll be on my own. I don't think I can after the fact decide to ask my Mastercard to step in at that point.)
One other detail-I was hit from behind while stopped at a red traffic light some years ago. My personal experience is that no matter how careful a driver I am, there are some very careless people out there. A 16 yo driving Daddy's truck totaled my car that day. That experience had made me cautious about making sure I have no questions or worries about insurance when I rent a car. I love a deal as much as the next person, by the way. I just look for codes that are general use or ones I'm certain I have eligibility for.

If you are asking if your car insurance policy from home will cover you, I believe the answer is yes. So if for some reason National says that you are not eligible to use the insurance that was in your original quote, then your car insurance should cover this as long as the policy covers rentals to begin with. I see no difference between this and declining the insurance to begin with.

Hmm ... I would think that if the free insurance does not cover you for some reason then your Credit Card and/or personal car insurance should cover you. But I can understand why you might want to err on the side of caution. I don't think any of really know what will happen if we are in an accident while using that rate code.

which is nothing new.

After reading this WHOLE EMAIL  I am now Executive Level for National (THANK YOU ALL!!). I want to rent a Mini Van for 2 weeks. Without logging in I used the 67 code and the $35 coupon getting a rate of $389.22 which is great but now i read that I can get a free upgrade? So I went to the website and logged in for the Emerald Club and picked the car right before the mini van but that just gave me the rate for that car (ex. luxury or standard SUV) not upgraded for free to a mini van.

HELP!! what am i doing wrong?

:cool1: Just picked up a chevy uplander with DVD and power sliding doors using code 67. all went well not questions asked.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I haven't rented from national in a couple of years so if someone could walk me thru the rental procedure at mco I would appreciate it!! I just reserved a standard suv for 8 days (9/27-10/5) for $191.07 with the 67 id and coupon nd2119071q (thanks by the way!) I am a member of the emerald club as well. If I remember correctly I can bypass the counter and go directly to the suv aisle and pick a car then all the paperwork is done from the car at the booth on the way out of the garage. Is that right--any input would be helpful! thanks in advance...:)

Actually, I would check with your credit card company and personal auto carrier. Usually all other insurance is void if the rental agency coverage is accepted. If you are in an accident and the rental agency determines that you were not eligible for the code/free insurance, you will be responsible for damages out of pocket. I work in insurance claims and my company had a large program for car rental agencies several years back and that is how it worked then.

The car classes might not be that linear (car to truck to van). Vans, cars, and trucks seem to be classed in somewhat parallel lines, occasionally intersecting. So being before the next choice, might not mean being before the next class. I think it can only be explained through string theory, but i'm not sure; quantum physics isn't my thing.

I have never rented a car before at WDW....

do you guys think an 18 day rental (National) for a Standard SUV for $405 is a decent deal?
