Better than Visa Magic Code?

We're going for 10 days but returning the car after 7 days to the Swan & Dolphin and taking Magic express back to the airport. We're just renting because for the first part of our vacation, we are staying at a Universal Studios Resort (no Magic Express) and then we need transportation to Disney for the second half. I was actually going to rent for a shorter period of time but it was more cost efficient for us to rent it for the entire week!!!! We are the type that once we are on Disney property, we don't want to have to drive anywhere. We'll do any water pick-ups or shopping off site before we start the Disney leg of the trip and just keep the car until our 7 days are up. :thumbsup2 Is there a leg of your trip that you'd be willing to do without the car or do you need it the entire time? You might want to crunch the numbers and see what adding a few days, and returning it early, using the coupon, or subtracting a few days and using another form of transportation will do for your total.

I did the same thing over Easter-took a car for a longer period-because it seemed cheaper...but I have to tell you that when I went to the counter and asked "what would my rate be for 2 days?" the agent and I were shocked(like$45 for Mid size-for both days). All my coupons and codes held -so when you pick up the car it might be worth it just to ask.

So if I extend the rental to the 13 days to take advantage of the coupon, then return early, what will happen? Is there a penalty or can they change the rate if I return 2 days early?

Not sure I'm going to do this, just curious...

Hi, just a question about using coupons with these codes. I am renting in September and have what I think is a good deal for the 9 days I need it for. The only thing is when I use the code for the $35 coupon, is shows up on the screen only to be cancelled out right below it so it accepts the coupon and then rejects it right away. How are the rest of you getting the coupon to work and not me? What am I missing?

Thank you

They will change the rate to the shorter time period. You can look into booking two 6-day reservations (and exchange cars at the Dolphin or Car Care Center). You are probably being charged for two full weeks anyway and then you can apply the coupon twice, once to each reservation. Picking up a car at WDW is quite easy and may be worth it to you to take 30 minutes out of one of your days.

I rent for business regularly and they can impose a penatly if the car is returned earlier than 24 hours. I do not know the extent of the penalty but I would ask before picking up the car.

Bumping the link to FlyerTalk and how to upgarde to Executive Emerald for free.

So am I correct in reading this is just for people who are Continental frequent fliers? I have never flown that airline. Can you join the frequent flyer program just to get this upgrade?

Yes you can. I did it last night and I joined Continental less than 5 minutes before I did the upgrade. You don't have to have your rewards for the rental to go to Continental because if you do, you would have to pay a fee to get ff miles for the rental. Just dont use the option of having ff miles from Continental when you go through the reservation process on the website.

Good luck!

I need this info for the Sanford Airport! Does it have a Kiosk...or if I am Emerald Club and renting a mini van can I skip the counter and go straight to the lot??

Does anyone know what the difference is between the 57 code and the 67 code? Both work for my ressie and the cost is the same. Am I safer with one over the other? I do have a back up plan with Alamo just in case there is a problem.

Does anyone have the link to the current National $35 coupon, ND2119071Q ? I would like to check the min/max terms.

I returned my rental 6 hours early and they charged me $25 bucks. This was with Alamo. I'd ask before you go with this plan what the charges would be to turn it in a few days early.

Explain this Executive thing to me? I don't see any information on the website about it really. How is it different than the regular Emerald Club?

Wow, a penalty for returning early!! I understand the penalty for returning a car late but how can they justify a penalty for early return? :confused3 Fortunately we have the opposite situation with our car having the extra days and just holding on to the car until it it time to return it. We actually NEED it for 5 days so that we can get from Universal to Disney but I'm almost positive that it will sit parked for two days until it is time for us to return it to the Dolphin. For the 6 days we are in Disney, I don't think we will be using the car at all. Lucky for us there is no charge for parking. There is a $14 per day charge at Universal, even if you are staying on site.

I'll keep this in mind. We need the car for the 5 days prior to our Disney stay so I can't imagine the cost being cheaper than the $92 we are paying for 7 days. It is worth a shot though. Thanks.

8/14 @ 7:30 pm to 8/24 @ 4:30 pm

Executive Service so I pick a full size and get the mid size rate.

If you can figure it out, I owe you one...:worship:

The rate of $220 for that whole time is great though! I hope you have it booked already, so you at least have that rate. I am sure another coupon will come out between now and then. Just keep watching.
