Better resort for coming with an infant?

Hey all! I've been coming to WDW for years now, but I am coming in December for the first time with my 10-month-old girl! I have stayed at multiple WDW resorts and nearby Orlando resorts and my question is sort of maybe an odd but would appreciate your answers.

Which resort: All-Star Movies with a car vs Port-Orleans Riverside without a car and needing to Uber/Lyft from airport and anything off-site.

Appreciate any responses...and if this the wrong thread, please let me know where I can post this! Thank you!

Are you planning on doing a lot of things offsite? If so, I would do Movies with a car, so you know you have a safe car and car seat guaranteed. If you are really just planning on staying in the bubble, I would do Riverside and take a shuttle or car service to/from the airport.

With a baby, I think a car would be more convenient - quicker return to the resort whether planned or unplanned.

I would opt for the All Star resort and a car so you can install your own car seat for your child.

Thank you for your responses everyone! Yea that is what I was thinking. Just never stayed at an all-star before, but financially makes much more sense!

Not a odd question at all, I asked something like this 18 years ago. LOL
If you are not going offsite, then you really do not need a car. We always drive to WDW and always use WDW transportation to all the parks, we only use our vehicle when resort visiting, offsite or going to DS. We had no issues using the buses with our stroller(s) from the value or Mod resorts, but the park trams were a different story, they were more difficult. Have a magical time.

We don't typically have a car at Disney. When we do, we rarely use it. My preference is to take a bus to/from the airport (RIP Magical Express) and leave the car seats at home.

That said, we are renting a car for our next trip. DH prefers it, and we're spending half the trip at Universal. We will probably still mostly use Disney transport. DH also may just "go out" for something every couple of days, because he gets antsy easily.

But with one kid, I would definitely skip it and stay at the "nicer" resort. Also, the bathrooms at moderates are bigger. We've put pack'n'plays and twin mattresses in the vanity area of moderate bathrooms, so we can close the curtain/door and not have to be completely in the dark after the baby goes to sleep.
Riverside happens to be the one moderate I haven't stayed at, but the layouts are pretty standard.

Either resort, but when our kids babies we always rented a car. The convenience and security of instant transportation made the cost worthwhile.

As others have said, I think this all depends on how much time out of the Disney bubble you are going to spend. If you're planning to go places quite a bit, I would definitely feel more comfortable in my own (rented) car, with a car seat installed by me, and a family member driving. If you're only talking to/from the airport, I'd say scratch the rental car and stay somewhere nice.
Let me throw out another option for you ... Pop Century with a car, Caribbean Beach without. I only bring these 2 options up because of the skyliner. In my mind, the skyliner is a game changer - with a baby and not having to fold up a stroller to get on/off of it, especially if the baby is sleeping! It's so convenient! That is, if Epcot and HS are part of your plan.

We liked All-Star Movies and Pop Century with infants. It was nice that we could leave the 2nd bed folded up and have a table and more space to set up the pack n play and park the stroller. Plus, we appreciated the not carpet floors...easier to spot dirt.

Where are you planning to spend most of your time with your little one? Skyliner resorts would be super helpful for Epcot and HS since you can just roll the stroller on.

Will you have someone to help with stroller that has to get folded up on Disney buses? If not, then driving to the parks in a car would be easier.

All Stars, for the sole fact that you can leave the second bed folded away and have some more space in the room with a pack n play.
