Yay for updates!

I can't wait to hear how you enjoy your first sit down dinner and show! :goodvibes

I love this report. you all are just too cute! Can't wait to read more.

Your TR is amazing! I love all the detail you put in and, of course, love the pictures!! We took this same cruise last January. My boys are reading your TR over my shoulder and telling us how much they want to go back.

More, more please!!!

I love your trip report. Your pictures are so bright and vibrant. What kind of camera do you have? oh yeah...was Christiaan your cruise director?

This is an awesome TR! Can't wait to see more! I'm so thankful for all of the beautiful pictures you posted; it's giving me a much better idea of what to expect in our stateroom, etc. We're taking the western crusie in Nov.!! :)

You are so helpful, we have the same hotel, same cruise, same category stateroom!

Thanks! How neat!!! Hope y'all have fun!!!!

My husband and I stayed in the same category on our first Wonder cruise. We booked the same on our second and were then surprised by an upgraded to Cat 9 w/ window which was grand!

We don't drink either and the non alcoholic mixes are quiet good actually!

Thank You so much for your report it's helping my healing process from surgery! We are not sailing until Jan so this really helps in the waiting as well!

All the best!
HG

That's awesome! I'm glad you guys got such a neat upgrade! I agree..the non-alcoholic drinks were very good! I'm glad you are being entertained while you are recovering!! :goodvibes Hope it goes by quick!!!

Oh keep going, keep going!!! LOVE these pictures and your story so much:)! We haven't been on the Magic since 2006, but with these pictures, I feel like I'm right back on it. Fantastic. Thank you so much, and I can't wait for more!!:thumbsup2

Thank you so much!!! I'm glad you are enjoying it! :goodvibes

just have to say again, LOVE the detail you are writing with, LOVE all the pictures, I have seen things in your pictures I've never seen before and I have been pouring over these boards since Jan of this year when I booked our very first cruise ever coming up in just 52 short days now!

Also wanted to say I snuck over and read your all girls brides tippie. I have dreams of going someday without the kids or DH but instead with friends. It sounded like a total blast. My favorite parts? The times that did not go perfectly and each and every one of them saw you laughing through them and having a ball! I would so do the same. . .with friends! With DH and 4 kiddos? Maybe not so much. . :rotfl:

Thank you!!! Yay 52 days! You guys are going to have a blast!!! lol that's funny about the brides TR...I'm glad you liked it! It was so much fun!!!! I totally understand where you are coming from! Maybe one day you could get away with the girls! It really was a lot of fun!

Ok, I know I posted last night, but I promise I'm not stalking you I just had to post again tonight!!:) Someone mentioned your all brides weekend trippie, well, I HAD to go check that one out and I just spent the last hour reading it, omg! I feel like I know everything about you now!:rotfl: How fun was that trip. Ok, so please, we need more. No more foolin around. I need to get back on the Magic tomorrow night, ok? (virtually speaking of course) thanks!

lol I know you aren't a stalker! That's funny! lol maybe I revealed too much in that TR! :rotfl2: The trip was a lot of fun! We had such a good time and we are redoing it in January! Can't wait!!

Saturday, April 18, 2009 Continued

When I left off, we were headed to the night's show in the Walt Disney Theatre.

We were given the 2nd seating at dinner....8:15 p.m. so that meant that we had to see the first showtime of Adventures Away in the Walt Disney Theatre.

cruise149.jpg

cruise150.jpg

I thought this show was really cute!

cruise151.jpg

cruise152.jpg

We also got a sneak peak of the Adult Entertainment for the following night!

cruise153.jpg

He was so funny. His name was Heath Hyche and he did a very good job of entertaining!

cruise154.jpg

He balanced all kinds of stuff on his chin! It was crazy!

cruise155.jpg

cruise156.jpg

I have no idea how he stayed on top of this thing with the ship rocking like it was! Crazy!

cruise157.jpg

More of the night's show...

cruise161.jpg

I thought this show was really cute. I love Disney stage shows! They really got you excited for the week to come!

....................CONT....................

After the show, we had a little time to kill before Dinner so we went by Shutters to see if our picture was ready. It was and we thought it was cute but we waited to purchase it. I wanted to see if we liked more during the week and we could buy one of their other packages.

Dinner that night was in Parrot Cay!

cruise162.jpg

We had the BEST WAITERS EVER! We still compare waiters at random restaurants to our waiters on board the Disney Magic. There is NO comparison! Dennis and Colin were amazing! They have both been on board the Magic since its maiden voyage! Pretty neat!

Not only did we have great waiters, we also had fabulous table mates! They were young, no kids, celebrating their 1st Anniversary (we were celebrating our 2nd Anniversary) and we got along so well! I feel like I've made life long friends from just that one week!

cruise163.jpg

Ok so anyway, I tried to take pictures of all the food but I didn't want our table friends to think that I was a wierdo so I don't have pictures of everything! :)

cruise164.jpg

This dip was amazing!!!!!

cruise165.jpg

Jason and I at dinner

cruise166.jpg

more food....

cruise167.jpg

Time for DESSERT! The best part! :)

cruise168.jpg

cruise169.jpg

After dinner, we went back to our room to kill a little bit of time before Match your Mate that night in Rockin Bar D!

cruise170.jpg

This was waiting for us in our stateroom when we got back! So cute! lol!

cruise171.jpg

Match your Mate was freakin hilarious!!!! I don't have any pictures of it but they picked the couple who had been married the shortest amout of time (ours was 1 week); the couple who had been married the longest (our was 46 years); and the craziest couple in the entire room. They had been married 8 years and they were so funny! They ended up winning! That old couple though cracked me up!!!! They were always dancing and having a good old time! That night before dinner, they were line dancing in the Promenade Lounge and it was so cute! Anyway, I loved Match your Mate so I definitely recommend seeing it!

After match your mate, we walked around and took a few more pictures before going to sleep for the night!

cruise172.jpg

cruise173.jpg

cruise174.jpg

cruise176.jpg

A VERY empty lobby!

cruise177.jpg

cruise175.jpg

Anway, that's it for day #1 on board the Magic!

Up next: Key West!!!

Sunday, April 19, 2009 - Key West Day!

Before we went to sleep, I ordered room service for the following morning! We got 2 croissants and some fruit and juice. I was so excited because I've never done room service before!!! haha! I ordered it for 8:30 a.m. Just so we'd have time to get ready for our day in Key West!

cruise178.jpg

Stupid me didn't realize how tipping worked! I ended up keeping these instead of giving them to our room keeper. Oh well.

I'm not including the pictures of us in the morning cause it's SCARY!! :rotfl2:

cruise181.jpg

Yummy food! After we ate, we fell back asleep for a few mintues and then got up to get ready!

We ordered a light room service breakfast so we could eat in the restaurants that morning! lol!

cruise182.jpg

The view of Key West from the Porthole in the hallway!

cruise183.jpg

On our way to breakfast! We tried to do Lumierre's that morning but realized that we'd have to sit and order off the menu and it would take a while. Well, by that time, it was already 9:30 a.m. and we had to meet our excursion group at 10:15 a.m. so we skipped Lumierre's and went to Parrot Key buffet instead!

cruise184.jpg

cruise185.jpg

cruise186.jpg

cruise187.jpg

YUM!!!!

Our group met in the Promenade Lounge. Not only did we have those who were doing the walking GPS tour of Key West but we also had the car rental group with us too.

cruise188.jpg

cruise189.jpg

We were given Mickey Mouse stickers and were told to stay with our group!

cruise190.jpg

Follow the Mickey Mouse head! :)

cruise191.jpg

I thought this was cute!

So after making our way onto Key West, we met up with a man who gave us all a GPS unit and helped us set it up.

cruise192.jpg

We started off here and pretty much walked around the island with the GPS telling us little historic facts about each stop. We could do it on our own at our own pace which was nice!

cruise193.jpg

cruise194.jpg

You can see the GPS unit in Jason's hand.

Forgive me, I can't remember what a lot of the stops on the unit were but it was really neat getting to learn the facts of Key West! I dont' think I'd do it again but it was nice to do once!

cruise196.jpg

cruise197.jpg

Apparently this place is famous for the amount of bra's stapled to its roof.

cruise198.jpg

What a thing to be famous for! :rotfl2:

cruise199.jpg

cruise200.jpg

lol!

cruise201.jpg

We stopped when we saw this place! I had read about frozen Key Lime Pie on a stick here on the boards and I wanted to try it!

cruise202.jpg

cruise204.jpg

cruise205.jpg

cruise203.jpg

HOLY COW did I just eat all of that?!?!?! Yikes!!! :)

cruise206.jpg

We fed the fish in the little pond behind the building before we left to continue the tour!

cruise207.jpg

Jimmy Buffett's recording studio! Pretty neat!

cruise208.jpg

cruise209.jpg

We saw this on one of those pirate museum windows!

cruise210.jpg

A typical street in Key West!

cruise211.jpg

We found the Mickey Boat!

cruise212.jpg

cruise213.jpg

I liked Mallory Square a lot! It was a cute little place with a bunch of shops! I got a Key West tshirt for $5.99 here! lol!

cruise214.jpg

sorry this is kind of crooked. This was another pirate museum/sunken ship place...

cruise215.jpg

cruise216.jpg

cruise217.jpg

These things were EVERYWHERE in Key West! Crazy!!

........................CONT...................

........................CONT...........................

The end of our tour brought us to this huge building with all of these really strange statues out front.

cruise220.jpg

You see that statue at the bottom right corner? Well, he was taking a picture of Ernest Hemmingway...

cruise221.jpg

But I stepped in and ruined it! :)

cruise218.jpg

cruise219.jpg

Jason tried to take that little girl's sandwhich!

cruise222.jpg

After about 2 hours, the tour was finished. We decided to bring the GPS unit back and then take a walk on the other side of Key West to get to the Southernmost point!

We followed the signs to the Southernmost Point. I was quite scared during this mile and a half walk. We really went through the slums of Key West!

But I took a few pictures on the way!

cruise223.jpg

cruise224.jpg

Ernest Hemmingway's house!

cruise225.jpg

I was amazed at all of the beautiful flowers in Key West so I took pictures!

cruise226.jpg

My mom just finished a class at our local AG center and she's now a Master Gardener (we make fun of her for that) but I took these pictures to show her!

cruise227.jpg

cruise228.jpg

And finally, after all of the scary house and scary people outside, we made it to the Southernmost Point!

cruise229.jpg

cruise230.jpg

..........................CONT...................

....................CONT................

There was quite a line to take a picture in front of this barrell so we got in line and I asked the nice people behind us if they would take a picture of us together. They did and I offered to take a picture of them together! So we kind of traded. lol!

cruise231.jpg

It was so pretty out here!

cruise232.jpg

I joked about that being a Pirates ship...those Somali Pirates were on the lose when we went on our cruise so Jason and I joked that they had made their way to the Caribbean!! lol!

cruise233.jpg

Now I know why Kenny Chensney loves the islands so much!!! lol!

cruise234.jpg

This was some kind of Naval base or something...

cruise236.jpg

cruise235.jpg

cruise237.jpg

More flowers!

On our way back we saw this.....

cruise238.jpg

And that name cracked me up! I wonder what goes on inside there? Hmm... :) That house is in the middle of the scary place we had to walk through!

cruise239.jpg

cruise240.jpg

We made it back to the safe place finally! We walked around their main strip a little to shop. Jason wanted some Sperry's but we couldn't find any for a decent price. Oh well!

cruise241.jpg

Love this!! lol!

cruise242.jpg

Back to the Mickey Boat to get ready for dinner!

Up next: Night 2 on board the Magic!!

Wow that was a long update!! lol!

Great updates! Love the pictures as usual. Your first day sounded great and I enjoyed your tour through Key West - unfortunately I think I walked through that scary area at night on New Year's Eve many moons ago! Can't wait to hear about your second night!

How do you get your meal assignment (you said you had the 8:15 seating)? Do they ask for preferences or is it random such that everyone eats that late at least once? I don't think our kids would last that long to eat dinner!

Thanks so much! lol oh gosh scary! I can't imagine walking through there at night! Yikes!!!!

When we signed up for the cruise, we were asked which rotation we would prefer. Because we were late in registering (December for an April cruise), they pretty much had nothing left for 1st rotation and that's why we got 2nd. However, if you have younger kids, they try to put you in the 1st rotation. I've also seen when the cruise gets closer, they switch you to what you preferred (not sure why that happens)........or when you arrive on the ship, you can go to a desk that is set up in one of the rooms and ask if you can change rotations then. They really do try to accommodate you!

Thanks for the update! Dinner in Parrot Cay looked awesome. I wish there was some way to get the rotation that would give us PC 3x as it looks like what we woudl like the best. I am truthfully worried over Lumieres and APallet as they do not seem to appeal to us at all when we look over the menus.

Anyway, about Key West, again loved the pictures. I will have to drag out our map and take a look at what areas you call scary. We are planning to walk to the southernmost point but also would like to see the other stuff too. A bit confused as to where to avoid. Only thing I herard is duval St is not for kids:confused3 I should use Whitehead St instead? I can see more research is needed! :rotfl:

It is all getting me super excited tho! Just 47 more days for us!
