our spring break rates are being released later this month for SW. Right now, we are booked Sunday-Friday. Some people in my party are now wondering if we should cut the trip a day short and fly in on Monday because they are worried about the price of airfare for Sunday. Has anyone seen a huge difference in prices for these days? thanks!

Sundays on holiday weekends are often the highest fares of the year. Easter Sunday is usually an exception because many don't want to travel on Easter itself. If you look at the Sunday after Thanksgiving vs the Monday, you will see some decent price differences. side note: Tuesdays tend to be the cheapest day of the week to fly on all airlines. I'm guessing your dates are Apr 17 - Apr 22. Are you on the east coast? CT? That is not a big vacation week, so you are most likely going to be fine.

Thanks for responding! I am actually in NY and our dates would be Apr 24 - Apr 29. Our break this year is the last week in April. I orginally booked it without worrying about the sunday price because it is so late in Apr but people have me worried that SW will still have that week really high bc it is our spring break..

We are flying in on April 9, which is a Saturday closer to spring break peak than your dates. Initially, flights were pretty crazy (we use points and it was originally over 13,000 points for good flight times (to compare, we typically spend around 7000). We booked anyway, but just today our flights went down to 7800 each. I saw a few for even cheaper. Paying cash, some were as cheap as $98 each way. So, I would just wait and see what happens...typically Tues/Wed are the very cheapest days but you might be surprised.

You should be fine for those dates. If SW opens up the flights over $200+ then I would not bother booking them if you are paying cash (not points) unless you are sure you can use the credit within a year. Those flights will definitely go well below $200.
