Better bus service: CSR or POR?

None of the above. Sorry, but the bus service is equally poor at any WDW resort.

You'll read all kinds of responses from people who say that they stayed a x resort and the bus service was great. You'll also read an equal number that say it was horrible. It all just depends on when you get to the bus stop on that particular day for that particular trip.

I agree that it can be luck of the draw, but we've had no complaints with the bus system other than trying to get to DTD. I wouldn't pick a resort based on bus service though. I think both resorts have 4 stops, and sometimes POR might share with POFQ, but that shouldn't affect the ride too much. Just pick on which theme you like more. Or if you do want to spend time at DTD, you can take the boat from PO.

Thank you for your responses: very interesting and insightful. I thought I had read that because CSR is a convention resort, it had more buses to more places. But your replies seem very reasonable.
We were actually asking for a friend. We used the WDW trans system for our early stays, which was acceptable, but have been renting cars for years now. We like the convenience and privacy of a car, not to mention a place to stick our Mickey ears antenna topper.

I've heard this before too. But when you think about it, it really doesn't make sense. If there is a convention, the people are staying at the hotel rather than traveling to the parks.

Technically, all resorts are serviced every 20 minutes. That is Disney Transports line and they will stick to it.

Now, CSR actually has contracted for 15 minute service intervals. This does not always get met due to the Magic in Motion dispatch system but the dispatchers try.

CSR always came up in the dispatch rotation more frequently than other resorts during the day but at close, all bets are off.

So in reality, CSR should have a little better service but it still can be a crapshoot. POR may sometimes be a little better because there are more guests there but remember, if you are at FQ, you may miss abus or two in the morning due to full buses. This can also happen for North and East depots. Except for DTD and MK buses, all others start at the South depot and regularilly fill those buses before getting to the other stops. Even though bus floaters are staged at POR, they don't always get sent right out.

I go to WDW several times a year and normally stay at one of the moderates, so have stayed at all four moderates at various times of the year. We've always found CSR to have the best bus transportation of any WDW resort (and that includes the values and deluxes). Due to conventioneers being in meetings all day, we've always been able to get a seat on the buses in the mornings (even if we get on at the last stop), plus CSR buses always seem to come faster than at the other resorts. I didn't know about the 15 minute dispatch at CSR vs 20 minute dispatch at the other resorts, so it makes sense now. Thanks!
