It's slated to reopen June 1st .... But Disney does tend to run behind schedule.
I have a solo trip May 15 - 22. Is there a chance in hades that it might open or soft open by then?

I think there will be on soft opining since it is not a new ride like POTCB when it reopened it did not have a soft opening altho I think it opened a day or two early

I think Star tours had soft re-openings when the film was redone so Soarin could have them. Your dates sound too early though. You would have to be really lucky. I would guess the soft reopening would be just a few days before the official reopening date.

I arrive on June 5. Crossing my fingers they aren't too behind! I think mid May is probably pushing it.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you...but unfortunately I think that is a long shot!

That's the day we arrive. We won't be going into Epcot though until the 8th. I'm hoping it's opened by then. The problem is we won't be going to Epcot until evening, and I'm sure FPs will be gone by then and lines will be long!

We won't be in Epcot until June 9. My fear is that they will open it without FPs. We will have DD5 and DS3 with us so standby isn't an option.

I saw a post saying it reopens at the end of March from another site, cannot remember where. No idea where they got that from but I can dream! I'm there those same dates as Lauren and its the one thing I'm sad about missing.

I talked with someone who saw the new digital format at DLR, not the new movie though, and they said they wished they had never seen it in the old format. I think it will be worth the wait.

Disney has officially said that the closure is from Jan 4th for 6 months, with no specific re-opening date. ANY and ALL dates you see posted on ALL websites are simply place holders. Don't base any trip on the reopening date for the attraction.

Most websites use automated systems that can only function on actual dates, so with a lack of specific data, they have to toss in an end date, so that they closure its self will show in their sites database. June 1st is a handy generic date to use. I am certain that as it gets closer they will adjust. Having said that on long, major projects, Disney almost NEVER gives an opening date. Skipper Canteen is the latest example, but the Frozen in Norway is only a few months out, and they are still saying spring. I am sure that they will say "It will open as soon as it is show ready"

I heard 6 months closure time. That would be more like early July. I do think it will open sooner. I think they over estimate in case they run into issues. If all goes well, it could be open in June. May? I highly doubt it.

I'm sure they'd love for it to be open by June 15 for the start of peak summer season.

I'm hoping it will be up and running in early August when we go. Pirates of the Caribbean was closed for refurib. when we went last August, we hated missing it, I would hate to miss Soarin' this trip.

I have seen no where that Disney said 6 months.

The only thing I have seen from Disney is "summer of 2016" so that is a wide window.

If you want to say 6 months that would be July. If you want technical summer that is after June 20th.

It will open when it's ready and they will give no date until they are pretty close.

Since it hasn't even closed yet to start renovations, even they may get surprises.

Disney just released the refurbishment dates for Soarin as "Closed January 04, 2016, reopening date Summer of 2016" so there's not an exact date out.
