Beth's WW Journey. (Comments Welcome)

Hey Beth. :goodvibes Well, first, I'm sorry you gained. But I'm SO proud of you for not letting it get you down. You sat down & figured out what probably caused the gain...and you're taking charge! :thumbsup2 Definitely make sure you eat enough. WW gives you the exercise points for a reason - because your body needs more fuel. :thumbsup2 Maybe you could at least have a protein bar for lunch, if you can't leave your work area? :confused3 You need something to keep your body burning.

As far as the workouts...you're kickin' butt. :woohoo: Mixing it up can only help, can't hurt. Take care and have a GREAT week, girl. :yay:

Ditto to what kim said--you are doing great on the workouts--KEEP IT UP!! you can do it!

Hi Beth!

I'm with everyone in praising you for not getting bummed out about the weight gain...takes a lot of willpower to accept it and then try to figure out how you can improve. Great job with that!!

I'm definitely no expert on the nutrition deal, but I know that when I started my exercise/weight loss deal last year I was scared to actually eat more, thinking that any food intake would add up to increased weight. How wrong I was when I realized that eating more each day (breakfast smoothie, snack, lunch, snack, dinner) actually helped my body's metabolism burn off my weight and use the "fuel" wisely. So, I think you are on track with ensuring that you don't skip lunches...along with the good night's sleep.

I hope the scales move in your favor this week!! Keep your chin up!

Have a good holiday weekend!

Hi Beth,

I know that you are disappointed about the gain, but I think you have a great plan in place for this week to change that. Great job on evaluating your week and seeing how you can tweak your plan to meet your needs.:thumbsup2 Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Have a great Labor Day!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the support. I needed it this morning. Yesterday was dismal. DDs best friend returned from her summer in India. Her parents have a tendency of just dumping her on us. Well, they did so at 630 in the morning. She rings the bell, waking the dog. Who then wakes DD and I up with his barking. Excuse me, who lets their daughter go over to the neighbor's house at 630 AM? On top of that, she hadn't eaten. Ugh. Kate was so excited to see her that I didn't feel I could send her back home. Exhaustion+general anxiety+being annoyed+dinner w/inlaws=Binge. It wasn't pretty.

Today, I am doing much better. I seem to have regrouped. I am right on target with my points. We went to see a parade/fair. DD won a fish. :sad2: I resisted the elephant ears and funnel cakes. I've dsone some core work, and I will take the dog for a long walk after getting DD to bed EARLY.

Tomorrow school starts!!! :teacher: I will get DD on the bus:woohoo: , head to the Y for weights and cardio. I have my next set of fillings at noon. Clean the bathrooms. Dinner, fill out paperwork from school, bed.

Have a ggod one,
Beth

WOW! i cannot believe that someone would send ther child over at that time of day! that is ridculous!

way to go resisting the funnel cake!!!!!! that would be a hard one for me

Enjoy tomorrow--sounds like you have a great plan in place!

Hey Beth. I agree with Jen (even though it pains me to say it :headache: ). That's just NUTS that someone would dump their kid on someone at that hour of the day. But I bet your DD was excited to see her. Way to go not letting one day of binging control your whole weekend. :thumbsup2 That's the key in the long-term of this whole deal....and you've got it down already. :goodvibes

Good luck to your DD at school tomorrow. I have no idea why our school district decided to wait until Thursday to start school.

Have a great Tuesday, girlie. :upsidedow

DD woke up at 545 this morning because she was excited for school. Thank God for Starbucks! Little does Kate know that she will be taking a nap today.

I did go to the Y. It was an absolute farce. The women's locker room is still being painted. That means all women are in the Family LR. Ok, but there are only 2 bathroom/shower combo rooms. Hello, there are aat least 150 women there at the moment. All the moms are there for their 1st day of school workout. I knew it would be crowded for the next two weeks, but they only had 1/2 the machines operating. No wieghts available til tomorrow. No ellipticals available. I grab one of the treadmills. Every 10 minutes the entire row of machines loses power. I ended up falling into the machine, and I have a huge bruise on my hip. Ugh. I did complain, but the only thing that got me was having to fill out an incident report. :confused3 That said, I did do 60 minutes on the hill program, so it wasn't a total loss. Now, I am off to the dentist. What a fun day.

Have a good one,
Beth

Hi Beth!

My DD had the same wake up time. She was just so excited for her first day of middle school. I know by the time high school rolls around, the excitement will wan.

Great job with jumping to the Y. Last night DH was trying to fix our treadmill. He had to stop half way thru because he wasn't able to find a wrench. Lucky for us, no one ever moves any tools, because I can't figure out just what the fuss is all about with having so many! I am off to go and get a new one, because I want my treadmill working again. Soon the weather will not be so agreeable for doggy walks.

This week will be a great one!

Wendy

Hi Beth, sounds like you need to find a new gym!!!
Hope your ok from the TM breaking down!
The bright side - you got 60 mins in & the kids are back in school :)
Have a great week

Well, Tracey, DH agrees with you. I am going to check out 2 other clubs in the area. We went with the Y because it discounted DD's camp. We weren't happy with the camp this year, so she will go to another next summer. I will join one of the other clubs, and I hope there won't be any other issues.

I did just ok with food today. I ended up using 2 flex points, so it is ok. I did walk the dog tonight. My jaw and teeth are killing me tonight.

Tomorrow I will be hitting the Y. Hopefully, the weights will be available. I need to gather WDW info. My girlfriend is going in 10 days, and she doesn't even know what a fastpass is. I am having dinner with her tomorrow for a crash course on how to do WDW.:teacher: I will also check out the clubs. Somewhere in there, I hope to hit journals.

Have a good one,
Beth

 Beth,

I'm sorry to hear that your jaw and your teeth are hurting you. :( Do they feel better today?

I'm sorry to hear about the situation at the Y too. :( Are there a lot of clubs in your area to choose from? I hope you find a good one soon!:goodvibes

Have a great Wednesday!:cool1:

Hi Guys,

Sorry I won't get a chance to get to journals tonight. I am not sure where the time has gone today.

I went to the Y. I did 3 weight circuits and 40 minutes on the EE. I increased the resistance and incline today. It was a great workout. Food has been good today. Dinner with my friends was ok. Their kids were monsters. Thank God I wrote everything down for them.

I checked out the two other gyms, and I joined lifetime. The dues were the same as the Y. The facility is gorgeous, huge, and has a spa. I also bought an introductory offer. Yes, I am a sucker. I am sighed up for 4 sessions with a trainer and 2 sessions with a nutritionist. I see the nutritionist tomorrow. I meet with Ken, my trainer on Sunday. In one of these sessions I get the total body assessment. I can't believe I am paying someone to depress me. Somethings may be better off unknown.

I also go to my final session with the dentist, and Kate gets her root canal. My mouth is feeling better today, but I'll be sore again tomorrow. At least it will be over.

Kate also has her first dance class tomorrow night. Laundry needs to get done again as well.

Ok, I'm off to bed. have a good one.

TTFN,
Beth

WHEW, Beth. LOTS going on in your life!

How awesome that you found another place to work out. We don't have anything but SUPER DUPER gyms around here. I'd like a place that I can go & take a class or two a week.

I don't know how you squeeze in all you do, girl. Take some time for you and to rest somewhere in there. :goodvibes

First of all great job on not letting that gain get to you. It happens, it could be a combination of many things. Its good to see the big picture and the key to success! And also very good job finding a new gym. It would have been easy to bag working out with the attitude of "the Y is so not working, what can I do?" sort of attitude. You didn't, you went out and found a new gym! That is just another example of your will and determination! Well done!

And please tell that family to not let their kid ring your bell so early! Lordy, people just amaze me sometimes! Call them sometime around 2:00 a.m. and see how they like to be woken up!

Keep up the hard work, that two pounds is history!

That's great that you found a new gym, Beth! It sounds like a great place!:cheer2:

Sending lots of :wizard: :wizard: for both yours and Kate's dentist appointments today.

Hope you have a great Thursday!

Great you got into a new gym Beth :)
I would love to try a personnel trainer & nutritionist - but too expensive here
:(
Please please pass on the advice & info (wheres the begging smilie?? ;))
I wanna know what i'm doing wrong - training regular, food not terrible not lost a lb in months!!
Hope all goes well at the dentist!

Hi Beth, hope the dentist went well and dd's dance class was a success!

I also forgot to add yesterday that was so nice of you to write down some WDW information for your friends. And they non behaving kids! They'll think you once they are there!

Well, everytime I get a chance to WISH, the boards have been down.:surfweb: :confused3 I've missed journaling.

The dentist appointment went well. Kate was a trooper. I am really proud of her. My dentist partners with an orthodontist. (Good rep) He came in, and thinks if we get Kate in retainers now, we could avoid braces in a couple of years. We have a moulding appointment in October.

I met with the nutritionist yesterday. It wasn't earthshattering. Sorry to disappoint. The first thing is that any alcohol is stored as fat. I don't drink, so that didn't help. 80oz of water a day. A snack of carb/protein 30 minutes before and after working out. Multivitamin in AM and PM, calcium supplement and B complex. Cheese is considered only a fat/not a dairy.5 small meals a day. Since I have PCOS, she recommends that I eat 30%protein, 45%carb/25%fat.

An example of an average day would be as follows:

Meal 1: 1 cup oatmeal made with skim milk, 2T raisins or 1/2 banana, and 2 T peanut butter.

Meal 2: 4 Whole wheat crackers, apple, string cheese.

Meal 3: WW pita with 3oz grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and light dressing. Orange.

Meal 4: Light yogurt with berries and whey protein, popcorn.

Meal 5: 2/3 cup brown rice, 5 oz stirfried chicken or pork tenderloin, veggies.

They gave me a journal to track my progress. It was obvious that her job is to get me to sign up for more sessions. I will take her info, and incorporate into WW which is working for me. It is also easier to follow.

Today I worked on putting away all the l;aundry I have done over the last week, cleaning 2 bathrooms, grocery shopping, and I did buy a sports bra. If the dressing room is under video, the security guard is laughing so hard he probably peed himself. Getting into/out of sportsbras that were way too small was just ridiculous. A storm is coming in, so I have a headache coming on. I did take catnap. I plan on an early night.

Tomorrow is wi. I have no expectations, so we'll see.

I'll be around tomorrow.
Take care,
\Beth

OMG Beth, your dressing room/sports bra thing almost made me pee on myself! I often think that too, God help the person on the other end of the camera in my dressing room! That is great news that Kate might avoid braces, hope those retainers do the trick! Sounds like you had another busy day. And it sounds like the nutritionist is like the one I met with awhile back, more interested in more sessions than the one she is doing at that time! Still, you got some decent pointers and that should be easy enough to fit into WW.

Have a great weekend, hope your headache is gone!
