Beth's Journal-Bring It!

First I want to thank everyone for the prayers and thought you have sent my way during my helathy living hiatus. I appreciate the support. It has helped me remember that I was on a break, and that I would be back.

Now for the updates in my life. My health is slowly improving. I am still anemic and require ore rest. My weight is at 222. :guilty:  I knew where it was headed, but did noting to stop the gain. It is ok, I a starting fro scratch.

Katie started kindergarten today. I thought I would be a mess, but she is just so excited and confident about it that I a not upset. I am excited for her. I managed to transfer her into the AM class, so I have to pick her up at 1145. No big deal, I would have to be home to meet the bus anyway. She coudn't sleep last night, she was so excited to get on the bus.

Work is work. I am back to y 3 12 hour shifts over the weekend. I will be doing this until mid October. After that, I will do 2 12s followed by an 8. I would get off work at 4Am Monday morning, so I should be able to get 6-7 hours of sleep Mondays.

THe WDW trip. I have 92 days until the trip. My TA was able to sneak my ADRs in with the rest of the "group members". I a part of a group rate that the ADR window started Monday. She was able to book any of her group 90+10 from that date. So we have CRT, PSB, Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, and LeCellier CP meal. She will get the rest on Saturday. I am so thrilled. I ay try for a WISHES or Illuminations Cruise, but haven't decided. Once I have all my ADRs I'll post my itinerary.

Ok, my plan to get back on track again. they Y is closed until Sept 7th. This is a major bummer for me, but I'll do my best to get some for of exercise every day. I picked up a pilates tape, nd I will walk Pez 2x a day. :dog2: I can't do extreme low carb. My body just won't take it. I will be happy with less than 70 carbs a day. That sees insane, but that is the least aount I can maintain my health right now. My other focus is water. 100oz a day.
Food Plan for today.
B: MS bar and tea.
S: Apple with peanut butter.
L: Scrambled eggs and ww toast.
D: Cheese burger and salad.
S: Strawberries

Things to do today...
Clean the kitchen.
Pick Katie up.
Grocery shopping.
Clean the bathroom.

Ok, I will be slowly catching up with people over the next few days. It is good to be back.

Take care,
Beth

I'm so glad that you're both feeling good about the first day of kindergarten! I hope she has a wonderful time and has all sorts of things to tell you about when she gets home!

I'm so glad to hear that you feel ready to be back. I wish you all the success in the world! I'm sure you can find a healthy lifestyle that works for you.

Sending :wizard: your way!

Oh Beth,

I am so glad you are back! :Pinkbounc We all missed you! :grouphug:

I hope that Katie has a wonderful first day of kindergarten. :goodvibes It sounds like she is ready to go! :teacher:

As for the weight.... Your body has been through a lot the past few weeks. Don't worry too much about it. I know that you'll be able to get OP and back to some gentle exercise soon and the scale will cooperate! ::yes::

That is such great news about your WDW trip! :Pinkbounc I don't know about you, but I am getting super excited!!! We may actually be leaving a bit earlier than we thought we were. We're scheduled to leave December 4th, but we may now leave December 1st and head to St.Petersburg first and then WDW. I have some research to do today in regards to MIL's flight and our car rental.

Beth, it is so good to have you back! :goodvibes Take good care of you! :grouphug:

Beth, I missed you!! Welcome back!

It's good to hear that you are well and are recovering. Take the eating plan and exercise slowly, sweetie. You've got a lifetime so gently easing back into things truly is the way to go.

I'm so excited for Katie and her first day of school!! :Pinkbounc I hope she falls in love with learning because that seems to be what life is all about these days. I'm glad you're enjoying her excitement and confidence! While you can't be physically with her, you are in her heart and mind and soul, and the things you've taught her will stand her in good stead as she takes on this new challenge.

I'm sending good thoughts :goodvibes and pixie dust :wizard: your way for a wonderful day, Beth! My world is a brighter place with you in it. :sunny:

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Yay! Beth is back! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Boy, I missed you.

Oh, I remember that first day, watching DD get on that bus. My heart still aches a little bit when I think about it. It's great that Katie's excited and that you've been able to share her joy. You know what they say: we give them roots and then wings.

:sunny: Knowing you're back on the WISH has added :sunny: to my day. :sunny:

Hi All,

Yesterday I took my meds, got in the walks, and drank my water. I fell apart when one of the neighbor kids had a cookie sale. I bought ad ate 2 cookies. Well, I can recover today. Of course my weight is up 2 pounds today.

KAtie's first day of school went really well. Katie's teacher seems to think that she can handle her allergies. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but send a daily snack. Apparently, when the principal came to introduce himself, he asked what a principal does. Katie's response was that when a kid is bad, he goes to the principal's office for punishments.

Plan for the dy.
Take Pez for his weekly 3 mile walk. (done)
Work on laundry.(starting)
Pick up Katie.
Clean Katie's room.

Meal Plan for the day...
B: SBD cereal with skim milk and tea.
L: Salad.
S: Apple with Peanut butter.
D: LC stirfry.

I will try to hit as many journals as I can today.

Take care,
Beth

Those cookie temptations!!! Oh my!! Maybe you should have eaten one and put the other in the freezer. ;) That way you could spread the sugar out and not spike your blood sugar as much. No worries, dear Beth, since that 3 mile walk with Pez will help burn some calories. How's little Pez doing??? How are he and Katie getting along?

Glad to hear Katie's teacher is up to the challenge and willing to monitor Katie's allergies! On my DD's tennis team, they assign secret buddies. Each girl prepares a goodie bag for her secret buddy on days when they have matches. This bag usually contains snacks and a drink. DD's tennis buddy is allergic to the majority of grains, and it's been good for DD. She's reading the labels on all the foods and drinks and I'm educating her on food allergies. It has been an eye opening experience for her so far. It's neat to see how hard she's working to keep her teammate healthy and still make the goodie bag fun. I bet Katie will encounter lots of compassionate people who will keep an eye out for her along the way at school. I think it's smart of you to send in Katie's snack, because you can't always be sure that the same teacher will be there daily.

Keep going Beth, one healthy day at a time! :sunny:

Yeah Beth! :Pinkbounc

I'm glad to hear that Katie's first day of school went well. :goodvibes Woohoo! :Pinkbounc

I'm not exactly sure when we are leaving for WDW. My MIL didn't make her decision yet on her departure date. I do know that we will be in Orlando
Dec. 5-Dec.16th.

I hope you have a great day! :sunny:

Hi Beth! I've missed ya sweetie!
Oh - cookies! Yea that is a weakness for me as well! For your 2nd day back you did okay though. Look at the positives, let the negatives go.

~Amanda

Beth:

Happy Kindergarten and happy dog walking! I know that work will be difficult for a bit but it must feel good to getting back to "normal".

I will have to tell my principal what Katie said about what his job really is. I have to say I am so thrilled to be at the school I'm at for student teaching and much of it has to do with the principal and his administrative staff. If I were a student, I might just be really bad in order to be sent down to the office just to hang out.

Again, welcome back and happy WDW planning!

-Laurie :sunny:

Thanks for dropping by. I am sorry that I didn't get to journals. I kind of fell apart today. I did really well until I got a phone call. I am a volunteer for the Red Cross. I do blood drives and education occasionally. They called to see if I would go South to help with disAster relief. I said I would help with blood drives, telephoning, etc. I just don't feel like I can leave my family. I am feeling disgusted with myself for saying no. I actually have skills that could help, but I am staying safe. I am not feeling good about myself right now.

I;ll be back tomorrow.
Beth

Beth, being realistic, with the health problems you yourself have, you have no business heading south. You need to stay at home, do what you can in your area, and take care of your family. The Red Cross still needs people right where you are. Please don't feel bad - do what you can where you are.

Doe, I know you are right. I am working a blood drive this afternoon. It just seems so far removed from the crisis. We did make a monetary donation through Won's work. They are doing a 4 to 1 match.

Let's see, what and I doing today?
2 mile walk with pez and Katie is done.
Taking Katie to Ann Arbor. She is spending the weekend with Mimi and Poppa. Lunch at Olive Garden.
Work a blood drive 2-5PM.
Take a nap.
Work a midnight shift.

I will be workin for the next 4 nights. Part of it is a favor for a friend. She won a vacation home for the weekend. She is really struggling right now, so I said I'd take her shifts.

Meal Plan...
B:Cheesy eggs and tea.
L: At Olive Garden. Salad and Chicken Alfredo on ww pasta. I will resist the neverending pasta bowl.
D:(9PM) cheeseburger and salad.
D:(2AM) salad and a ham/cheese rollup. Strawberries.
B: 7AM) scrambled eggs and tea.
Ok, I need to run.

Tak care,
Beth

Beth -- I am sooo glad to see you back here. So thrilled Katie had such a positive experience at the beginning of her formal education :goodvibes: My sweet daughter started her senior year Tuesday -- I am trying not to cry :sad1:

I am glad you turned down the "invitation" to head south. You can do so much right in your community and you have a family that needs you and you have to focus on keeping yourself healthy too. As it is, I don't know how in the world you can work the hours you do and still stay sane. ;)

Have a great weekend, kiddo! I'll be thinking about you. Hoping Katie has a wonderful time with Mimi and Poppa. You are such a great friend to free your friend up for the weekend by taking on her shifts. :goodvibes:

beth--have a great weekend..
i think it was a good choice for you to stay where you are--you are still helping by doing the blood drives

Hey Beth...

It's great to see you back and I'm glad your doing well.

Congratulations on Katie starting kindergarten. Seems like forever since my girls started. She will love it :flower:

I know when you get back into your routine, you'll get back on track with your weight loss, but that's not the most important thing right now, you're health is.

I hope you and your family have a great holiday weekend and get some rest when you can.

Hi Beth!

Hope you are having a good weekend! :teeth: I know you are working, but I hope you have found some time to relax too. :goodvibes Take care!

Hey, Beth. :wave2: How's it going? I hope you find some time to have some fun this Labor Day weekend. Take care of yourself, OK?

,
Erin
