Beth's Journal-Bring It!

Hi, Beth! Hope your meeting goes well! And I hope you got some sleep!

Hey there, Beth. to you, girlfriend. I know that you've got a lot going on, but please take care of yourself.

Low serotonin levels (PMS especially!) = MIGRAINE and CARB CRAVINGS. Your body is SCREAMING to get re-regulated. Get some dairy, healthy proteins, nuts, and complex carbs to help your hormones!

I hope you got your issues at the Y straightened out. Sometimes people just don't think!

 ,
Erin

Beth, Erin is right on the money with the hormones  . Hopefully you'll be feeling much better soon.

Did the meeting go well? The only reason I can think for the Y to try to push the painting in now would be so they can start fall swim lessons and swim team practices on time. Would have been nice if they had let you know the schedule ahead of time. UGH!

Hang in there - smoother and sunnier days are coming! :sunny:

Hi All,

Erin, I have pretty much accepted that I can't do the induction level lc again. I'll eventually be back to what I consider lc(<50/day), but I am going to be SLOWLY lowering my carb level. My focus is getting back to exercise and maintaining my water intake. On the good side, my neurologi doesn't want me to cut back on my caffiene intake for quite awhile, so I have MD endorsed lattes.

The meeting went pretty well. There is nothing they can do about the pool. They have to start work before Aug1, or the health dept closes the entire facility. The builders used the wrong paint, so it is rusting and molding. They did give me $100 credit. I also got wrangled into teaching a 15 minute food allergy presentation during next years camp training. Not sure how that happened, but let's face it, I do know a ton about food allergies.

I managed t get everything done yesterday. I still have towels and sheets to do, but that can be taken care of today. I am just back from the Y. Lower body weights and 30 minuts on the glider. Katie and I may do some pilates tonight. Daddy is going out with the guys. I am planning a nap for this afternoon. Katie was up 4x last night. She doesn't remember any of it, but I sure do.

Ok, I am off to shower. I hope to get to some journals later today.
Take care,
Beth

Beth:

Wow, too much stress. I'm so sorry you've been enduring the sinus headaches and migraines as well. A "script" for lattes? I need to visit your doctor and maybe my habit can be considered tax deductible.

The Y's situation sounds absolutely terrible. I guess I understand the health concerns about the paint but it does not make for a good summer camp situation. You are certainly qualified to give the talk about food alergies for staff and it is information that they need to thoroughly understand.

If you have to be not as low carb as you'd like, maybe SB's suggestion of the "right" carbs is the way to go. Brown rice, whole grains, etc.

Please feel much better soon.

Sorry to hear about the issues you've been having with the Y but glad to hear they gave you a credit - they should have!!!

Keep on

Hi there, Beth. How's it going? You know that even when you're away from the WISH, you're still in my thoughts and prayers, don't you?

Raising my latte to you, dear Beth--
Erin

Just stopping by to see how you're doing! I hope all is well!!

Hi Beth! :wave2:

I'm just stopping in to send a warm  your way and to send best wishes that all is well in your corner of the world.

Enjoy what's left of summer! :sunny:

I wanted to thank everyone who has come to check on me. I have had a bit of a surprise the last 3 weeks. I'm pregnant, but things are not going well. I am having heavy bleeding and am on bedrest. I am allowed to go to the bathroom and to shower once daily, no stairs. Ironically, now that I have tons of time, I can't DIS. Our net connection won't onnect to the 3rd floor. However, things are changing. We've figured out why I'm bleeding. THe pregnancy is stressing my liver again, so my coags are off. My ob says I have about 30% chance of carrying to viability, and my gi doc thinks that I will end up on the transplant list, if I continue with the pregnancy. After a ton of discussions we have decided to terminate the pregnancy. I wasn't sure that I should share any of this, but I decided that I needed to write it down. My mom is coming on Wednesday to drop off/pick up Katie. Unfortunately, my father is very black/white prolife, and isn't speaking to me. I will need to take a couple of weeks off from exercise post procedure. I am not looking to healthy living until August 30th when Katie starts school.

I am thinking about all of you.
Take care,
Beth

Oh, Beth! My friend just went through this, as well. :grouphug: I will be thinking of you.

Lisa

Beth - I'm so sorry to hear about what you are going through. It has got to be a tough time for you and your family. Your Dad needs to get over himself and worry about you. I pray that you have a speedy recovery.

Oh, Beth.

Thank you for sharing this part of yourself here in your journal. At least when your WISH friends know, we all can keep you in our prayers and hold you close in thought.

.
Hold on, dear Beth, hold on.

Love,
Erin

Dear Beth, my heart is breaking for you. :( You've been put into such a difficult set of circumstances and are having to choose between 2 paths that are both painful. It sounds like you are making the best choice, especially for Katie, who needs her Mommy to be healthy, but either path will leave you with doubts, fears, and a heavy heart.

Sending you a gentle  and am sure wishing I was closer and could spend some time keeping you company in person. Know that I will be thinking of you, praying for you and your family, and holding you close in my heart.

 and , dear Beth

Oh sweetie - my heart is litterally being torn apart for you. You and Won have had to make an extremely difficult decision. Poor sweet Beth. I'm so sorry. I'll say a prayer for a quick recovery and that your father pulls his head out of his *** and gives you the support you need. You are putting your current family first and Doe is right - Katie needs her mommy. Remember what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. I will pray for you and your family - let us know how you are doing and know that there are people out there that love you and are sending that love out to you.

~Amanda

Beth:

I'm so sorry that your father cannot find it in his heart to be supportive of a very difficult, life changing medical decision. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I wish you better health, rest, and peace of mind. Your family depends upon you and you need to take steps to be there for the long-term. But I do understand that some choices are extremely difficult to make and live with in the long run. Believe me, I definitely do.
