Beth's Journal-Bring It!

Hi All,

Yes, it is scarey to send Katie o camp. She needs the interaction with other kids. She also needs to learn how to manage her allergies. She is only 5, and I think of her as my baby, but she is going to school soon. I need to let her grow up, and I wnt her to be a strong and independent child, teen, and woman. Eventually, she will be on her own, and she needs to be safe. The earlier she starts the easier it will be for her. It is just unfortunate that it is so hard on Mom.

I have been OP for days. I've gotten over the lc lethargy and headache. I am feeling much better and in control. I worked 4p-4a yesterday. I love that shif, but it doesn't usually work for my family. Igot 6 hours of sleep, and I work 1130-8a tonight. I didn't workout beyond a 2 mile walk with Pez. This heat is just sapping my energy. 102 on Saturday.. I am dreading August. I may take a nap before work.

Meals today...
B:Bowl of sbd cereal, tea.
L: 2 ham/swiss rollups.
D; cobb salad.
At work: salad sf jello.

I m off
Beth

Hi Beth!

Congrats on being OP!!! :cool1: That is great! :Pinkbounc

I hope you have a wonderful day today!!! :sunny: Take care!

Beth:

Good for you staying on plan and a 2 mile walk in the hot is worth 5 in the cool. I'd be happy for some of your warmth...we are rain and low 60's at best. I suppose we're back to regular NW summer and not the dry days we've had for the last two years.

A 4 to 4 sounds like a very strange shift. Usually my sis works a 7 to 7 (finally on days after almost 20 years of being an RN).

Sending some cooler weather your way...I hope it doesn't get hijacked on its way east.

-Laurie :sunny:

Great job staying OP, that heat has to be a killer. Sending your baby off into the unknown is always rough on mommy. Since she has allergies I am sure it is doubly tough. Keep up the good work.

Kristin

Morning Beth - I am finally getting around to catching up on everyones journals. Wow - you have been super busy. Try to enjoy these few days without Katie. She is missing you just as much. She is also learning to test those wings a bit. Think how good it will feel to get her back home again. But for right now just breathe deeply and relax a bit. You deserve a break too. :wizard: and here is some pixi dust for cooler weather. Take care of you.

Cool weather would be much appreciated Laurie. We'll be at 93 today.

Another day OP and without drama. Ahh....

Today is another busy day. I am taking Katie to camp, anf doing cardio and weights. I need to go grocery shopping. I also want to clean the 1st floor bathroom. Katie has swim lessons right after camp, Ill walk the track while she swims.

B: SBD cereal and tea.
L: Salad.
D: Salad and chicken salad.

I'll hit journals tonight.
Take care,
Beth

The streak continues. A boring day.

I did 3 weight circuits and 2 miles on the hills program on the treaddie. I also too Pez for 2 1 mile walks, so my total milage today was 4 miles. I was also on program again.

I am going to do 60 minutes on the glider and 30 on the treaddie tomorrow. Pez needs a bath. I am going to work on my closet tomorrow. I still have size 26 clothes in my closet. I need to separate out what gets tossed, goes to Purple Heart, goes to the women's shelter, and gets altered. I have a couple of things that I really love. I wnt to get them altered, so I can wear them again. This is a huge undertaking, and I am dreading it. I also have to do laundry. Pez starts obedience training tomorrow night as well. I won't be around much.

Meal Plan for the day...
B: LC english muffin with cinnamon ream cheese.
L: Salad.
D: Salad and chicken salad.

Take care,
Beth

Yay for Beth!

Obedience training is a hoot (try not too crack up at all the other dogs and owners). I love hitting the local Petco or Petsmart when they have training sessions going. From many of the owners resembling their pooches to the dogs all enjoying the company of one another and ignoring the directions they are supposed to be listening to, its great entertainment.

Don't forget to take a baggie of Pez's favorite treats with you.

-Laurie :sunny:

Woohoo! Let's hear two cheers for a boring day! :teeth:

Hip Hip Hooray! :cheer2:

Hip Hip Hooray! :cheer2:

Life without drama is a good thing. :goodvibes :teeth:

I hope you have a wonderful day today! I'll be doing some cleaning today too. I need to clean out the computer room big time. I haven't eBayed in almost a month and it looks like a wind storm swept through here. :earseek:

Have fun at obedience training with Pez!

Have a great day! :flower:

Hi, Beth! :wave2: Ahh, cleaning out the closet. It IS a big job, and can be quite emotional, too. Just think of all you've accomplished and how you've KEPT IT OFF! You're amazing!

Little Mickey loved obedience class at PetSmart. He was so cute. . .I know it'll be fun with Pez.

ENJOY THE BOREDOM! :p

Hi, Beth! Just thought I'd check in and tell you how happy I am that life has been calmer for you. Boy, that episode with Katie's allergies would have wiped me out. I can't even imagine how scary that was for all of you. :guilty: Glad to hear camp is going better this week. :flower:

I bet Pez LOVES that his mommy likes to take walks. Does he do okay in the heat? My furbaby gets all worn out so quickly. Maybe if she walked more, she wouldn't get so tired so fast and maybe if she walked more she wouldn't weigh so much so that I could carry her when she does get tired. Oh so cute, though. Enjoy! :goodvibes

So, how is the closet cleaning going? I just did the same thing! Pulled out all the 24s, 22s, and 20s and made a huge pile on the guestroom bed. When my friend was visiting, I told her to take anything she wanted and she found lots of nice suits and dresses and shorts. I'll do the same thing when I see my sister in law. Then the rest is going OUT of my house. I don't want it around. I don't want to have anything that fits comfortably if I fall off the wagon. :sad2: Howard was so amazing -- "Get rid of all of it. You will NEVER need those sizes again, right?" He has absolute confidence in me. I hope you are as proud of yourself as you should be and that you have all that love and confidence and pride surrounding you. :)

Have a wonderful day, sweetie!

Hey Beth

Enjoy those boring days while you can ;) Sounds like things are going well for you, but your busy as ever.

Get rid of those clothes ASAP. You never want to have to wear them again and if they are gone, it'll keep you honest.

Any special plans for the 4th?

Hi Beth!

How was the rest of your week? I hope you and your family have a safe, happy, healthy, and wonderful 4th of July weekend! :Pinkbounc Take care! :goodvibes

Just stopped by to wish you a happy and safe 4th weekend. God Bless America.

Thanks everyone.

I ended up working the entire weekend.4-4. This is my favorite shift, so it wasn't bed. It was also great money. I worked for one of the women I work with, her daughter is our nurse extern,so I know both. Jaime decided to elope on Monday, and she wanted her parents there. They headed up to Traverse City and got maried on the beach. Well, it was Cindy's weekend to work. I covered so she could go to the wedding. Even though census is down, my boss wouldn't give her the time.

I went completely off program this weekend. I think that I was trying to see how much weight I can gain in a weekend. That said, I am feeling ok to start again today. Hopefully I have this binging out of my system.

Slight drama with Katie. Won took her to a party yesterday. I was too tired after wrking 4 in a row. Katie ended up eating cherries. Won forgot she was allergic to them. Now, she hasn't had an in over 2 years, so I had mentioned I would try them on her this year. Well, she ate probably 1 pound of the cherries. I would have given her 5. She is eczema head to toe. She woke up at 3 Am itching,so I dosed her with more benedryl. She is still asleep. Sleeping in for her is 7AM. I'll let her sleep. To be honest, I am enjoying the quiet. She isn't in camp this week, and is going to my parents later in the week. Unfortunately, I couldnt; fall back to sleep at 3AM.

I am not going to the Y today. Katie is a mess, and I can't take here to child watch. I will take Pez on all 3 of his walks today. 4 mile total.

Plan of the day...
Go to Petsmart, Home Depot, and Target.
Clean the kitchen.
Clean the powder room.

Meal Plan ..
B: 3 scrambled eggs and coffee.
L: Bistro salad at the mall.
D: I talian chicken, broccoli, and salad.

Ok, I am off to clean a bathroom. I'll do journals after Katie is in bed tonight.
Beth

Hi! Sorry I've been MIA, but I wanted to stop by and see how you were doing?

Sorry to hear about the snafu with Katie and the cherries! Hopefully she bounces back quickly!

Sounds like you had a rough weekend, but you're back, and that's the important part! I hope you have a great week and enjoy the quiet!

Beth:

I'm sorry that Katie had a bad reaction to cherries too...what can this poor child eat that won't give her fits?

My youngest niece has reactions to strawberries but not all the time. Her worst reaction was to a strawberry/rhubarb pie last summer but it was unclear whether it was the berries, the rhubarb (which she hasn't had since), or the gooey red stuff that is used in the pie to hold it all together. My mother has occasionally reactions to red food coloring so Allysa may have this problem too.

I think you might have to make it a memory game for Katie to help her remember all the things she shouldn't eat. Perpaps you could make up a song together about different foods.

Back on plan. Don't think about yesterday, just make today better.

-Laurie :sunny:
