Woke up at 6am. Love those Mickey wake up calls! Sometimes if I didn't hear Mickey right away, I'd just wait a second and then he'd come on. Just a little tip, because last time I thought that Mickey wasn't doing wake up calls anymore! Took a quick shower, then went out to that wonderful balcony and read. Finished my book, then got ready to go down to the lounge for breakfast. We were down there by 7:10. Ate, then grabbed some bottles of water to take with us. Got to the bus stop and just missed an Animal Kingdom bus. Waited about 10 minutes for the next one.

Got to the Animal Kingdom by five after eight. Used the "secret" entrance though the Rainforest Cafe to enter the park. Headed straight to the safari (as did practically everyone in the park) and decided to do standby. Waited about 15 minutes. We saw tons of animals, and even had to wait as a rhinoceros crossed in front of our jeep. Headed over to It's Tough to be a Bug. On the way we saw these very nice water bottle holders with safari Mickey on it. Perfect size to hold our Brita water bottle, so we bought it. ($10.60 + $1 for Wildlife Fund) Saw It's Tough to be a Bug. I just love that!! Totally my favorite 3D movie.

Walked over to Dinoland to ride Dinosaur. Ride was broken, so we grabbed Fastpasses. Headed over to Asia to ride Kali River Rapids. No wait. We rode twice without getting off. We were SOAKED!!! It felt good, though, because it was very hot out. Decided to do the Maharaja Jungle Trek. We'd always skipped this for some reason. Well, I'm glad we finally did it, because it was great. The theming is so beautiful. I even found a Hidden Mickey! After that, we went over to see Festival of the Lion King in Camp Minnie Mickey. We were seated in the elephant section and had a good viewof the show. We enjoyed it, but it's not one of our favorites. When the show was over we went to the character trails. Got a quick picture with Tigger and Piglet together before they had to take their break.

It was time to do our Dinosaur fastpasses, and we rode without any wait at all. We like Dinosaur well enough, but not a favorite. We were quite hungry, so we went over to Asia to our favorite counter service place, Chakranadi Chicken Shop, and got chicken satay and roasted corn. ($15.53) For anyone who's never tried it, you NEED to try it next time you're at the AK. After lunch, since we had done pretty much everything we wanted, we decided to go back to the hotel. On the way out, we bought some cute Animal Kingdom postcards ($5.30). Bus was waiting when we got to the bus stop.

Walked around and took some pictures of the Polynesian. Saverio bought a postcard ($0.43) and went back to the room. Before going to the room we stopped at the concierge desk and made a Fantasmic dinner package reservation. Grabbed some snacks and headed back to the room for some AIR CONDITIONING!
Relaxed for awhile, read the paper on the balcony (I loved that balcony SO much!), and then decided to head over to the Magic Kingdom.

Got there by around 5pm. Grabbed a fastpass for the Pooh ride. *Tried* to then get a fastpass for Buzz, but discovered that Disney got smarter and we could no longer use our old park tickets to get multiple fastpasses. I was definitely bummed. And getting very hot and irritable from the sun. We decided to try our very first Dole Whip. We split the pineapple flavor. ($2.65) Wow!! Those things are *good*! I can't believe I waited so long to try them!

Feeling much refreshed, we headed over to do Pirates. No wait. Went over to do Haunted Mansion. No wait for that either. Heard thunder. Went over to Tomorrowland to do Buzz. The posted 35 minute wait was more like 20. Now it *really* looked like it was about to rain. Went over to do the Tomorrowland Transit Authority because there was nothing else to do. Rode it. (I can't believe this is an e-ride night ride!!!) Bought two ponchos ($12). Rode Pooh using our fastpasses. Had about a 5 minute wait. By the time we got into the gift shop and I was purchasing a cute little woozle for my friend ($7.42), it had started POURING! I mean, pouring. The sidewalks looked like rolling floods. We bravely donned our ponchos and trudged through the water. We were the only ones!! Everyone else was lined up like a bunch of yellow ducks in their ponchos under anything dry. Why buy a poncho if you're going to stay under stuff anyway? We waded up Main Street and to the monorail station. Dried off in the room and then went down to 'Ohana for dinner.

We wanted a fireworks view table and were willing to wait, so we hung out in the Tambu lounge and got a couple of drinks. ($14.39 with tip) Finally our pager buzzed and we were shown to our table. We had a perfect view of the castle! Great for when the fireworks started. Ate dinner and saw the fireworks. Were not too impressed with the food [see restaurant board for full review]. Total cost of dinner:$52.

Went back to the room and found that the concierge staff had left a bottle of wine, two wine glasses, truffles, a Mickey and Minnie chocolate, and a card wishing us happy anniversary!! We were too full to sample the chocolates, but we did take them with us. Wasn't that the sweetest of them to do that?? Another great day!!! Went to bed and got a 6:30 am wake up call.
