Betcha Didn't Know...

1. I was a cheerleader from 6th grade through high school...the prissy kind.

2. I married a math wiz...the nerdy kind. :rotfl:

3. I can't eat the ends of bananas-I peel them, cut the end off, eat almost to the end and throw it away.

4. I am addicted to peanut butter.

5. If I smell something gross while I have anything food or drink in my mouth-I gag.

This thread is so cool - I wish all Disers would post on it.

My turn:

1. Tetris Master - routinely gets over 1,000,000 points, but that is the only Gameboy game I can play. I can't even do Ms. Pacman or any of the games my kids have for Playstation.

2. Once traveled, by myself, from Boston to Nashville to see Dwight Yoakam in concert.

3. Have never, ever eaten a baked bean or an olive (green or black).

4. My oldest DS was a preemie at 3 lbs 13 oz. 20 years ago and now he is 6'2'' and weighs 205 lbs.

5. I choke up whenever I see a member of the military and I can only think of how selfless, brave and wonderful they are and pray for their safety.

6. My sister served 6 years in prison and is now trying to turn her life around. I think she is going to make it.

1. I have a picture of me sitting on his lap and kissing Mohammed Ali on the mouth (...but it was only a peck, I was 3 and I met him backstage after a fight).

2. My grandfather was the first black man in the Navy and the first black air traffic controller...but it was because no one knew he was black...(Don't ask, don't tell was around back then apparently). He went on to become a judge and I have a newpaper clipping of him telling a young F. Lee Bailey (of OJ Simpson fame) he couldn't have photographers in the court room.

3. My husband is a West African refugee, whose family escaped his country by foot (after the govt was overthrown) with the only the clothes on their backs. They eventually made it to the US when he was 12...we met in college.

4. I can't eat unless I have something carbonated to drink at the same time.

5. I think I'm a little bit of a hypochondriac... (is that like being a little pg?)

Joy

p.s. this thread reminds me of the cbs morning show segment, "Everybody has a Story."

6. I am considering a spur of the moment trip to Disney next week with my 3 year old. DH will have the older boys on a fishing trip and my 3 year old isn't ready for all that yet. Am I nuts?

Just want to encourage you to do this. I did a mother/son only trip with my 3 year old several months ago, just a little weekend trip, and it was probably the best time I ever had at Disney.

Ok, I want to go again!!

1 I love fruity candy, but I'm not crazy about chocolate candy
2 I drink a smoothie almost everyday
3 I'm almost never in pictures
4 I was a wood nymph in our high school play (the lion witch and the wardrobe)
5 I love to sing disney songs alone in my room

I have a few more:

I spent a weekend in jail.

My senior year in high school, I taught my Algebra III class (even the principal doesn't know that one!). Our teacher would start trying to demonstrate a problem on the blackboard, and would get all confused :confused3 . Someone in class would then always say, "Let Beth show us," and up to the front of the class I went for the rest of the period. And for those who think private school is better than public, this was a private school.

I have an entire notebook filled with outlines for a novel, but have never gotten around to writing it.

I was "stalked" over the phone for an entire summer when I was 18, by a man that poisoned his neighbors that same summer (the story of the murder is actually a book, "Poison Mind" by Jeffrey Good and Susan Goreck.) The man was in an organization my mother was in, and I went to one of their functions with her because she was trying to (and still is) talk me into joining. This little incident turned me off for good.

I secretly love the fact that I know whenever we get a pet, it will like me best.

2. I an virtually immune to viruses. I never had any of the childhood diseases even though I was directly exposed to chicken pox 4 times when the person was at their height of contagiousness. This thread is fascinating!

1. I had cataracts when I was born and my eyesight is pretty bad.
2. I got my driver's license at age 24 and it's a daylight only license because of my poor eyesight.
3. I made it to the regional finals of the National Spelling Bee. The word that eliminated me - mackerel.
4. I walked my first half marathon at Disney World at the age of 40, with lots of other friends from the WISH board.
5. I enjoy acting and singing and hope to someday be in community musical theater.

here's another:

I was pulled over by the police on the day I got my driver's license, 16th birthday, b/c he said I put my blinker on the wrong way, but I still believe it's b/c he didn't think I was old enough to drive.

I was so short you couldn't see my head over the headrest and I had to sit on pillow and put one behind my back.

OK, I'll go

1. I have the pics of my last 3 WDW trips sitting in a drawer.

2. I bite my nails.

3. I am horrible about saving money.

4. I am not creative at all.

5. I am afraid of squirrels, I think one is going to run up my leg and I will cross the street to avoid them.

6. I have never been in a hospital(except for giving birth) and I have never had penicilliun.

7. I have never been on a diet. I wore a size 12 all through high school and after I had my first child I wore a size 7. I am 48 and after 5 kids I still wear a 7.

1. My grandpa was the 7th son of a 7th son. People would line up on his porch and ask him to "heal" their babies or sick children.

2. I have "double cousins" (my mom and dad's siblings married each other and all had kids, making us double cousins, did I explain that right?)

3. I cry at commercials

4. I love animals. I will cry if I see a dead one on the side of the road.

This is a neat thread, Twin Mom 7! :flower:

3.) I went to an all-women's college.

I love this thread....

Me:
1. I grew up in a very small town where everyone was white and most were closed-minded and discrminated against anyone "not like them". Yet, my DH is from Kathmandu, Nepal.
2. My family is very conservative, yet I am very liberal.
3. I write fan fiction and no one who "knows" me is aware of it.
4. I hate to drive in large cities and on busy interstates.
5. I hate racial and cultural profiling. My DH was subjected to this often after 9/11. Everyone assumed by looking at or even listening to him that he was a "Muslim Terrorist from Afghanistan" though he is actually Hindu and from Nepal. I have many Muslim friends and hate that many people equate all Muslims to being terrorists.
6. I have never owned a new car and really don't care if I ever do. Just need something to get me around when needed.
7. I am severely scared of spiders.
8. I've held 8 different jobs..........all with the same company. I started working there at age 19 and it is the only place I've ever worked.
9. I didn't spend a single night alone in a house (or anywhere really) until I was 21 years old and my DH went to Nepal for 6 months.
10. My grandfather gave me an engraved watch before I was born. I keep it in its original box and it has never been wore. The date on the watch has always read August 3 - 1 day after my birthday. The time, however, has never stopped, though there has been no battery change or winding. I'm 28 years old.

When my eBay auctions are close to ending, I become obsessed with clicking refresh every 30 seconds to see if anyone else has bid. It is like a drug. ;)
