I still listen to my New Kids On the Block tapes in my car

Man, I'm jealous! I wish I still had mine!

1. I can say the alphabet backwards

2. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've seen Britney Spears in concert

3. Seagulls scare the crap out of me!

4. I gag at the sight of onion rings

5. I have a tattoo of Titania, the Fairy Queen from A Midsummer Night's
Dream

Fun thread ::yes::

- I secretly envy the power of the tag fairy (but would probably use the power for evil ends :rotfl: )

- I may be the only straight man you know that absolutely loves broadway musicals.

- When in a completely dark room, it takes an actual act of will to keep my imagination from running away with me.

- DW and I met at a Great White concert on her 19th birthday.

- I have a tested IQ in the 150 range, but never finished college due to some other things that were going on in my life at the time (ended up in the Air Force).

- I believe I have some excellent ideas for a book, but am too critical of my own writing to try to get published.

- I'm actually relatively shy in real life. I can "fake it" if I have to, but I'm usually pretty uncomfortable in social situations with people I don't know.

- I'm completely wrapped around my DD's little finger. :)

That's all I can think of for the moment. Oh, wait:

- I've broken every finger of both hands, save my left ring finger. All from playing sports as a kid.

- I pitched my first no hitter at the age of 9, and had several throughout my years of playing.

My turn

1. My mother was an identical twin.

2. I can say SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPEALADOCIOUS backwards.

3. My first car was a 1979 Chevy Camaro - yellow with orange and black racing stripes

4. I am a high school dropout but most people believe I have a college eduacation - I have earned my degree in the "school of hard knocks".

5. I have never had a broken bone and still have all my original parts - tonsils, appendix, etc.

:Pinkbounc Did we kill the thread ? :teeth:

One more...My first car was a Dodge Charger. My dad wanted to buy me an MG midget, but my mom wouldn't let him...which turned out to be a good thing, since he found out a couple weeks later that it was actually a stolen car. :rotfl: Mom just wanted to teach me to pay my own way, but she may have kept dad out of jail. pirate:

Ok, then I'm the second. & I LOVE the "Show Tunes" music channel on Direct TV

I'm actually relatively shy in real life. I can "fake it" if I have to, but I'm usually pretty uncomfortable in social situations with people I don't know.

Me too. As A firefighter, I get to "fake it" a lot, but it does not really carry over to the "real world". We agree twice. This is gettin' kinda' creeepy.....

I used to be a bassoon player in HS & college.

I flew the S3 Viking in the Navy, but I hated shipboard life.

I grew up within 1/2 mile of the beach, but went for 5 years without actually going there (paranoid parents)

My DF was a "launch pad" scientist.

The first movie I ever saw was "Babes in Toyland" with Anette Funicello.

.

I recently saw Lennon on Broadway. It is still in previews and they have
pushed opening back until (I think) August 14th. It needs a little work at the end but overall it was a great show. I saw Yoko Ono there too and she was wearing...a floppy hat and big glasses! Is this show in your plans?

Here's another from us:

6) Our twin daughters are the 7th set of living twins on my(Lea) side of the family.

7) I played tom toms in high school band. Oldest daughter is starting lessons this year in 6th grade band.

8) Oldest(6th grade) and middle(2nd grade) daughters have both been on honor roll and principle's list their entire school careers. They have not gone a single semester without being on one or the other.

9) Dh is hearing impaired from meningitis. He can read lips so well, unless you know him personally, you wouldn't know he is hearing impaired. He is scheduled to have a cochlear implant done Aug 29th. He tried to enroll in the army 2 days after graduation despite graduating in the top 5% of his class. He wanted the army to pay for his college so he could be an army surgeon like his hero, Hawkeye. They refused him because of his hearing.

10) My first vehicle was a 1984 Ford Bronco. Dh's first vehicle was a 1979 Ford LTD(one of the long ones). It was given to him by his uncle whom he was with when he cheated on his wife. It was a hush hush gift.

alright I'll go again

1 Twinmom7's siggy pic brought tears to my eyes

3 I have to have breathmints at all times
4 I have always wanted to be a bartender
5 I have to sleep on the very edge of the bed :confused3

:goodvibes These were fun to read. Hopefully I can think of some things to add.

1. My parents met at the Spangler Candy Company - the home of the Dum Dum suckers.

2. I lived & worked in a mission/clinic in Mexico & helped deliver 4 babies when I was 18 years old. (1980)

3. I played the clarinet in middle/high school.

4. My DH is the youngest of 4 children, I am the oldest of 4 children.

5. My appendix burst when I was 16 years old & I almost died. It did cause me to be infertile. My DH & I adopted a friend's daughter; she came home form the hospital @ 2 days old & she's been ours ever since.

Hiya,

Here's another one for you......

I got tagged because of this thread !

Thanks Tag Fairy, I really appreciate you colouring my 'self-made' tags and adding that new one :) You are a star!

I really do love cartoons... so much so that one of my kittens is named Cosmo after the Fairly Odd Parent lol.

Cya,
Gaspodé

I like this thread... here's more:

1. I was adopted by my father's sister, and grew up with my real extended family. I was told I was adopted, but no one ever told me that they were my REAL family until I was 16.

2. I have a brother that everyone in my family has seen / talked to / hung out with, but I have never

3. I have too many dogs

4. I have dreamed of going on a cruise since I was 16... so 19 years and counting now....

5. Dh and I don't go out because we have no family to watch the kids or a sitter we feel we can trust.

I dunno...I've read some pretty average reviews of the show, saying that it focuses almost entirely on John's post-Beatles career (which isn't entirely bad, but does miss the vast majority of his best work) and that it is relatively pro-Yoko (otherwise known as "she who must not be named" :teeth: ). I might wait until they come out with an original cast recording and see what I think then.

Oh, incidentally...since we're on the "Betcha Didn't Know" thread:

- My parents met at a "Beatles" party. One of my mom's friends was having a "girls only" party and my dad and a couple of his friends crashed it :teeth:

Ok, here's another one - the song that was playing when I had my first "real" kiss was "Twisted" by Keith Sweat. Talk about romance!!! Luckily, things have improved since then. :)

1. I used to train dolphins

2. I come from a family of drummers and my dad used to drum for REO Speedwagon. I am a drummer myself as well.

3. I married a Canadian I met on the internet. When we first met in real life I drove up to Canada and met him at a border town at 3am. He was staying in a motel with 2 of his buddies who were friends of mine as well. At the time, I didn't think a thing about it but looking back now...OMG! I'd kill Mo if she did it. Oh, and I didn't tell any family or friends I was going before I left.

4. My husband has turned me into a sci-fi geek. It is tragic.

5. When I was 20 I went to an open mic night for stand-up comedians and I actually didn't bomb.

Wow, your dad was in REO ?!? How cool is that ! :teeth: If he toured with them in the 80's or 90's, I've probably seen him live.

Noooo this was long before I was born. He drummed for them and also had his own pretty successful band at the time. When they got signed, my dad's band was also invited to California and my mom told my dad that she would leave him if he went. He chose her over going and he never went. He says he doesn't regret it...yeah right! ;)

Edited to add...my first concert was REO and my dad took me backstage to see everyone and let me meet them. Pretty cool first concert experience!

Can I add a few more??

I do everything with my left hand but I write with my right

I once made and sent a t-shirt to Donnie of New Kids on the Block :rolleyes1

I look exactly like my dad but am my mother through and through

I have a purse and shoe fetish

WOW, I never dreamed this thread would become such a HIT!! :goodvibes

This might just go down on record for me in all my years on the DIS. :cool1:

...oh, and in regards to my signature pic - which someone mentioned -

that's our son surrounded by 4 of his 5 sisters, and me - just trying to get a hand on him.

It was the greatest moment of my life. :love2:
