I opened Ridemax today to play around and it had a little pop up announcing beta testing for a web based version of Ridemax for Windows and Mac systems with some limited availability for mobile devices. Wow, it is like they heard my prayers! :rotfl:

If you are a subscriber, you can access the beta system here: http://www.ridemax.com/webapp/login.php?status=alreadyactivated

It looks very similar to the Ridemax version installed on my computer, but it does allow you to modify your plan once made, which will come in very handy. Off to see if it works on my Blackberry...:)

I just used it on my BlackBerry, which is awesome (considering I have a pretty slow BlackBerry).

Now I can create my plans on my laptop if I want, and then just modify them on the go with my BlackBerry. No paper to carry around or anything. This program is awesome.

Yay! It works on my Blackberry Torch! :thumbsup2

It is actually pretty smooth. It saves all your itineraries under your username and you can go back and forth between them, modify them, or create a whole new plan. It is a little weird how when you make changes or a new plan, you have to physically refresh the screen, but it is a small annoyance.

Overall, very excited to have this on my BB! Thanks Ridemax! :cool1:

If I make my plans on the windows version, I don't see how I can save them. So am I right in assuming I have to make my plans in beta version for them to be saved in "my plans"?

Yes. If you use the "regular" version, you can't save it under a username or anything. You can save it as a pdf or whatever, but not online.

Hmmm...I'm confused as to what is meant by beta testing, I guess. Am I to understand that instead of downloading software, it's now able to be done online? I'm not buying until the beginning of June because DH is concerned we'll spend the money (albeit $15 isn't that much compared to the rest of the trip, although it could buy DD's 1st ears) and wants to make sure we're within the 30 days.

I can't find any information about the beta testing on the website.

Once I downloaded the software, I was prompted by a pop-up that the beta version was available.

Yes, you have to pay for the software before it tells you about the beta.

Here is what it says when you open the "tips and hints":

"Thank you for choosing RideMax to help plan your visit to Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure!
April, 2011: Web-based Beta Available!

So excited this got bumped! I was on the Ridemax website just this morning looking for an Android App. This will be great!

So it looks like I order the main software, and then with my subscription I use the Beta on my Mac to make the plans? Am I reading that correctly. DH asked if this works on iPhone (of course my first question was...you have an iPhone? I thought you had an HTC...am I missing something here?) :rotfl:

Yes, once you order the main software, the beta will be available to you. I am not sure about the Mac thing, since I have a PC. I would email RideMax and ask them to be sure. They always email me back within a day or so. I am pretty sure the beta would work on a Mac, but better safe than sorry!

I do know it works on iPhone and Android, so it should be fine on a Mac, but I don't want to tell you the wrong thing. It also works on my Blackberry.

And it sounds like your hubby has some explaining to do! :rotfl:
