Has anyone ever bought tickets from Bestfare.com? Have any of you joined the travel club? The member prices are so much better and the fee to join is very little compared to what you would save on 4 tickets, but I don't know anything about them. Any info out there? Good or bad. ;)

Just happened to log on and saw your post.......I actually joined Best Fares for 3 years in a row. Loved the travel hints and the low fares. I booked airfare with them several times, before they started doing an on-line booking. It was a little more difficult back then, as you had to keep calling, and calling and calling, but the rates were worth it. You got Frequent flyer miles etc., with your airline tickets which was nice. If there is any type of travel discount in the world.......you will see it on their website. I thought it was great. I joined mainly when we were doing several trips to WDW as well as a couple of others. Very useful and honest information. I paid the $59.... and I got several months free, because I had several friends join it after I did. You get free memberships with all the major car rental companies, that would normally cost you money. I learned how to join Delta's kids club, for my children, we got discount airfare with it, free drink coupons for flights for the parents and free headsets for the kids. You receive a monthly magazine. Access to the website. Discounts on hotels and airline. If you plan on traveling it is very useful.

peagreenid,

Thanks for the reply. They have a fantastic price with 1 fly free companion fare right now for the dates I need but it is a member only fare. But even with the $59 membership fee the tickets are still saving a bundle. Do you have the option of rejoining each year or do they automatically charge you account and you have to contact them to cancel? I wouldn't mind joining for the year if I can do it for just 1 year to try. Were you able to get the flight time you wanted for the good price or did you have certain times for the good price deal? :smooth:

Can you tell me what the Delta kids program is?

Delta used to have a kids program with special perks for member kids. But they've closed the program to new enrollments (before I could enroll my now-5-year-old), and will be phasing out the program completely once all current members "graduate".

I think they are two different sites. The bestfare.com takes you Southwest airlines and bestfares.com takes you to a different site, my mistake. I get an e-mail from bestfares with the link to their site and forgot to put it on in this post. They are running a really good companion fare for anyone needing air thru I think Sept. 12, just check the Snooze-you-lost section. With what we will save if this works out it will be well worth the $59.:p

They really do seem to have some great fares. Does anyone know how far in advance they usually have prices? We're flying early Dec and most everything they have ends no later then Sept. How long do you think it will be before they extend the fly by time? It always makes me nervous to wait too long to book these things :)

I would also like to hear from others who have used 'Bestfares'.
I posted a thread on the transportation Brd several days ago inquiring if anyone had used them. I did not get many responses. Excellent prices, so I signed up for their newsletter. We need 13 tickets from BWI to MCO and 4 from SEA-TAC to MCO in Dec., so far my quotes are all $190-250. We're gambling, but hoping for better. 'Bestfares' is running a great special for $98 but only thru Sept 12.

Ive been a member for a few years now, and have never been able to get a good price for a flight. I just called today when I found on their site Wash-Las Vegas $124.00 + fees. I called the best they could find is 365.00. United/American both have 228.00 RT. But I do read all the travel articles and have used the discount on rental cars. They renew each year on the CC you used. You can call when it shows on the bill for next year and they will remove and cancel it for you. Hope this helps.
I've found some good travel tips in the magazine, just not actual airline tickets to buy.

Four trys to get member only prices and all four times they were not available on my requested flights, nor second choice flights. I havebeen a member for two years but not renewing. Enough great info for free. I might be the minority but wasn't worth the $59 extra a year for our family.

:( That's what I was afraid of too. The way my luck runs I would never get the good prices for the times we need to go mine would always be the "other times slightly higher"!!! Thank you all for your replies but I think I might just skip it this time.;)

I wanted, Unless it was a deal on Americas Worst Airlines...... I think they had one ticket per airplane or something. But, as with any deal they are limited. The positive part about Bestfares.com......the announcements come out the night before in an e-mail, before it's generally announced anywhere else. So you can get a jumpstart on it before the rest of the world.
I am a Delta Flyer. I've never had a problem getting the deals on Delta with Bestfares. The fares are the same that are on sale in the world.....just someone else did the leg work for you. Often Bestfares will discount them even further, which is the members only specials you will see.
And as Dave said the Delta's kids program is over, but they've had the same type of program for Women Travelers etc....and you didn't have to even be a woman to join. We got loads of free coupons etc. in the mail.
They just give you other hints etc. Like coupons for $200 off a flight if you buy a disney video or something. The members only section will tell you Which video you have to buy.

Hope this helps. For our family of 4 I saved a lot of money. The car rental membership cards were well worth the cost.

they do bill automatically, and you have to cancel. But they did it right away.
