Since it seems that so many dining experiences hinge on the waiter/waitress you have at a certain resturant....I thought maybe I could start a thread so people can take notes for the places they want to eat...

Yachtsman Steakhouse....Best....Ricardo.....Worst....Linda

Anyone else?

Best of the best - Ken at Trails End. Runner up - Donnell at Trails End.

Can't think of anyone recently, at any restaurant - who has been bad.

We did have a strange counter service experience at the Spoodles window, though! We paid for some slices of pizza, and then stood by the window while the cashier took the next order. A few minutes later, she looked at us with a big question mark over her head, and said "can I help you?" (She had told us she was sick, so really, she should have been home!)

Ohana- only been once but had an AWESOME waiter: Drew!! :)

Would you consider only naming best in your experience?

I think it is so unfair to name any CM when recounting any kind of bad experience...restaurants, parks, resorts or whatever. There are always two sides to any situation and lots can happen "backstage" to affect what we see at our table. Just think how hurtful it must be for any server to see their name listed as "worst" on an internet forum.

Anyway, I know we haven't had all the servers at Mama Melrose but our favorites are Kevin and Dorie. They are both GREAT! :sunny:

If I were a server and saw my name on a Worst list on an internet forum I would be a little hurt. But I would take it as a warning to step up my game!
I say that if you choose to be a server, especially at a high profile location like Disney World, then you need to understand that in your profession it all comes down to perception. On that note ...

Worst - Maureen @ Narcoossee's
Best - Susan @ Yachtsman & Layla @ Portobello YC

BEST: Kevin at California Grill. :goodvibes This is the best service I have ever had ANYWHERE...not just WDW. Customer Service is an art to this man...he made our experience Uber-Magical!!!

Worst: The chic at Fulton's - don't care to remember her name.

Best Server was MO at LeCellier.he was polite, funny, and quick. I also feel that the Servers and Bartenders at the ESPN CLUB are very good. They keep up with the constant rush!. honestly i feel for the most part that i haven't had any bad servers yet at WDW. :cool1:

Best-Nancy at V&A (runner up --Ron at Jiko).
Worst--anyone we had at our 4 dinners at Fultons.

And wanting to add that the overwhelming majority of servers we've had at WDW have been very good!!

Best: Joey & Joe at FF; Christopher at Blue Zoo

Worst: some may not be the very, very best but I can honestly say we have never had a terrible, horrible, mean server

If you really want to recognize a great server, make sure that you ask for a comment card and jot a quick note. Whenever a manager gets one of these, they are supposed to notate it on the cast members permanent record card.

Another vote for Joe at FF. He knows how to be "professional fun" with the adults and "kid fun" with the kids, both at the same time. He waited on us on Mother's Day, 2004. We sent a note to WDW guest relations about his service. We ate there again last month, and mentioned him to the hostess. He came over to our table during dessert, said hello, thanked us for the note we had written, remembered we were there on Mother's Day the previous year. The guy is amazing. We'll be eating there in 19 days and when I made the reservation I asked that it be noted that we have him as our waiter.

Terri at FF was great, too.

We've been fortunate never to have had a "worst". There have been some average or mediocre, but none that were bad enough to be labeled the worst.

Best - Darlene at Beaches and Cream.

We only go there once a year at most, but she always remembers us and always comes over and talks with us, even if she isn't our waitress that time around. This has been going on for over 10 years now.

Mia at the Norway Princess lunch was just wonderful. She chatted with me and DD, explained all of the cheeses and foods (I think she was surprised that we liked one of the Norwegian cheeses - I'd bet a lot of peole leave it on the plate, lol.), and was generally a real joy to meet. I had a special-diet request that had not made it onto our reservation and she handled that with grace and a smile.

I haven't run into any bad waitstaff, really (other than slooooooow service at RFC almost every time), but Mia was head and shoulders above even the Disney standard.

My vote for the best goes to Tony T. at the Coral Reef. Cousin Mark at Prime Time is also great.

The reason I asked for best and worst was because we have had Linda twice at Yachtsman...so this is a pattern...other people need to avoid her. Had we known more we would have had a much nicer experience.

Guess that is why I asked for both.

Actually when I get exceptional service (like my last trip to Napa Rose), I ask for the manager on my way out and tell them as well.

Best waiters in the "World":
Flying Fish.....Frankie

Garden Grill......Michael

both of these waiters made our dining experiences more than special. Went the extra mile.

Alfredo's- Best server ever was "Marco from Venice." I even wrote to guest relations to notify them of what a great job he did.
