Historically, are there discount codes every summer?

We have a trip planned for August this summer but I am having medical issues and my doctors do not recommend I take the trip. I am absolutely devastated as this was something our whole family was obviously looking forward to. Due to work and school commitments, I would need to reschedule for next August. We had a discounted deluxe room - I believe it was 35% due to being deluxe. Do they usually have discounts every summer? Thanks so much.

Things can always change, but there are typically discounts released for summer. There is a Discount Codes sticky that might be helpful to you.
Good luck with your health issue.

The fact they did/didn't have some special in the past is no guarantee of what they might offer this year. Disney specials I can recall seeing are typically worded with the 'CERTAIN room categories UP TO ?%'. Every room is not discounted and you have to look around at various resorts/room categories to see what level of discount is actually offered. UP TO 35% would mean at least SOME of the rooms offer that discount, but clearly not all rooms.

I wouldn’t worry about it, yes there are discounts every summer. Even more confident because it doesn’t Appear any major new attractions scheduled for next year

Wall street doesn’t always equal what’s going on in Main Street. Disney will have to do discounts if Main Street keeps suffering.

After 9-11 Disney realized many guests didn't feel safe traveling. Entire resorts and parts of resorts where mothballed.

Discounts won't motivate guests who were fired from their job and are struggling to pay tarrifed food.

The economy also just absolutely cratered right before 9/11. So it was a double whammy, the dot com bubble bursting plus 9/11

Discounts will make the price more affordable to guests and entice them to book who otherwise couldn’t tolerate the rack rates.
