My best teacher was probably my 11th and 12th grade English teacher Ms. T.
I went to a small high school and she is probably one of the better teachers in the school.
She was a hard but fair teacher. She was a lawyer for a couple of years then she taught college and later started teaching high school. She said she enjoyed teaching. She was the type of teacher who helped all her students not matter what their abilities were. She really helped me learn to write at a college level.

My best college instructors were Bonnie my English 102 teacher. Kevin my English 101 teacher. Jerry my intro to marketing teacher.

My worst teachers were my 9th grade general science teacher and my 10th grade biology teacher.

My 9th grade science teacher Mr. V was basically a guy who went to college and probably became a teacher because he probably didn't fit into any other careers. He was the type of person who should have never gotten into teaching. He wasn't really smart in the subjects he taught. He was also my welding teacher and one time in that class he told me off for something I did by accident. He played favorites with kids and used to tease other kids in bad ways.

My 10th grade biology Mr. B was intelligent but very arrogant man who should never gotten into teaching either. He basically was only in the school to teach the kids that were good at science subjects. If you had difficulties with coursework and you ask him for help he was rude to you. He pissed me off a lot of times in that class. I would ask for help and he would grab my book and turn it to pages and say stuff, "Well if you would read this you would understand". I told him I did read I just had trouble understanding and he would ignore me and walk away. The kids that were great at science liked him. His wife was the school librarian and she was also arrogant like him. She would be rude to students once they walked into the library.

I tend to see Mr. B and Mr. V around my hometown when I visit mainly because B attends the same church as my family and V is friends with my uncle. I kind of give them dirty looks when I see them around town.

It's hard for me to pick out my best teachers, I've had so many good ones. Let's see:

-2nd grade: Mrs. Toomy allowed us to do spelling at our own pace and even helped me enter the spelling bee.

-4th grade: Mrs. Kem started an Honor's Reading group with our librarian Mrs. Gundy because I was so far above grade level.

-5th grade: Ms. Pruitt allowed us to choose our own monthly research topics. She never shied away from a topic, even though I had some that were probably questionable. One of mine was AIDS (this was back in 95 when it was still a taboo subject) and she even allowed the school nurse to come and talk to my class as part of my presentation.

-7th grade: My language arts teacher Mrs. Wilson showed us a taping of the London cast of Les Miserables (with certain scenes fast forwarded). I have been hooked ever since.

-8th grade: My language arts teacher Mrs. Powell allowed me to read many of my own books for book reports because some of the books we were reading I had already read in early el.

Some of my worst teachers?

-1st grade: Mrs. Bremmerkamp. She would not let us read our own books and instead had these God-awful readers that made no sense. She was convinced for a long time that I couldn't read because I wouldn't read them. Every page had a different sentence that had nothing to do with the page before. There was absolutely no plot.

-3rd grade: Mrs. Thompson was nice enough, but you never knew when she was in a bad mood. It was hard to guage what would and wouldn't set her off. She was pregnant at the time, so I dont know if that had anything to do with it.

Best Teachers were Mr. ???? in 11th grade economics and Mrs. ??? in 7th grade History (I can't remember either of their names lol)

Worst hmm oh there was alot of them and I remember ALL their names

#1 Mrs. Roberts, 2nd grade
#2 Mrs. Baa, 5th grade
#3 Mr. Roberts 7th grade (yes they were married)
#4 Mrs. Miller, 9th grade

(Mrs. Burn, first grade, almost made my list for making me put my name on the board on the second day of school for dropping my scissors. I had her later in 5th grade in Sunday School and she was really nice to me. Then she died of cancer, so I am exempting her from the worst list. But that second day of school made a HUGE impact on my self confidence.)

I didn't have alot of good teachers actually.

Alot of teachers were great teachers to one or two students, but couldn't give the time of day to anyone else. The above teachers loathed me though.

Worst Teacher - 8th Grade English Teacher  ... I still have nightmares about her :scared1: ...

Best Teacher - 11th & 12th Grade Accounting Teacher ... She was great :thumbsup2

Best teacher- well I have 2 Mrs. Lynch in 4th grade and My high school ap English teacher. (can't remember her name but she rocked! Her first name was Eileen. I remember that)

Worst
Oh I have the winner.
Sr. Norbert 5th grade.
It was 1975- the Bicentenial. Also the "fitness craze" was hitting big time. So this Nun decided we would exercise in class every day.
What exercise you ask?

The alley cat.

And since it was the bicentenial we had to do it holding 2 little flags.

And when she got mad at us she put the 45 onto 75 and we had to dance really really fast. :rotfl2:

My best teacher was 8th grade English. He was great. He probably wasn't the most knowledgable teacher but he had the best sense of humor.

My worst teacher was Mr. J for the 5th grade. he was mean and played favorites with everyone it seems but me. If I did the smallest thing that he didn't like he would make me stay in from recess and wash the black boards. (as you can see I am still a bitter betty:mad:)

I'm surprised at the amount of teachers I actually liked (although I'm a whiz kid so that impacted it.) Let's see there was:

*Mrs Myers (1st)- She was great! I had went to Kindegarten for only 2 weeks, and when I was smart enough to skip ahead, there was no tension at all. I still have my cricket I made for my report. :)

*Mrs. Remoy (5th)- For 5th Grade I was in a split 5th/6th class. Alot of the time she did the teaching for both grades at one time to the whole class and I really learned alot. We also had a class guinea pig named Pumpkin.

*Mrs. Honeycutt (TAG Teacher)- She is hands-down the best teacher I've ever had. I had her for 4 years (2nd-5th) for TAG (Talented and Gifted) and I enjoyed every minute of it. She taught use how to play Gin Rummy and how to make origami (just to name a few activities). When we had to move I was in tears saying goodbye to her.

(Those are the best of the best)
I've only really had 1 or 2 bad teachers.

My ds and I were just talking about this tonight. My worst teacher was an English teacher in my college in Brooklyn back in the 80s. He would sit on the edge of his desk and smoke for the entire time. All he did was talk about the holocaust. Really a waste of time and money in that class, luckily my job was paying for it.
The best was my Italian teacher in college, who taught me beautiful poems in Italian. She was a sweet lady who really cared about teaching.

I had many great teachers, but if I had to choose just one, it would be Mr. Fleming. He taught 8th grade math, and I had him when I was in 7th grade. I had his wife too, in 5th grade, and I liked her, but he was on another level. He made me laugh all the time. He made me feel like I was good at math, when I thought I really wasn't (yes, this was me feeling bad for not getting all A's in the accelerated math class). He was a rabid fan of my parents' (and my eventual) college alma mater. He had a huge jar of jelly ranchers and would chuck them at people when they answered a question right in class. He retired at the end of that year and I helped him clean out his room and take down his wall worshipping my alma mater's football team.

I'm sorry to say I seriously cannot remember the name of my worst teacher. I must have repressed it. He was my 7th grade social studies/history teacher and he wasn't mean...just...he wasn't very good. He liked the guys who liked baseball and you got extra credit if you brought in baseball cards. Looking back, perhaps I didn't like him because he was the only teacher who never seemed interested in me. I didn't like baseball so I was a nonentity. And he gave me a B+. Slug.

5th grade. Mrs. Hindricks at the time, now Mrs. Harden.

I still exchange Christmas cards with her. Recently I visited my mom, and she (my former teacher) had dropped off cookies for me.

She is beyond special. She connected with her students like no other.

ETA: I was working in a greenhouse, just a few years ago.. and somehow she came up.. this teacher.. with a co-worker. Mind you, we're 300 miles from my home town. It turns out she was HIS first grade teacher at a different school.. once she only taught at for one or two years. He also had hugely fond memories of her.

Small world.

Some of my best:thumbsup2 teachers I've had, have been in college. One that I will always remember for as long as I live was Ardene Niemer Just when I felt like quiting and giving up she always knew the right thing to say to me. She is what a true teacher is and she is also the kind of teacher that I aspire to become:teacher:

The worst:headache: is now, this math teacher! He hates his job and he doesn't try and hide it at all. I feel I'm basically paying to teach myself. the class starts at 2:45pm and he doesn't take attendence until 4:00pm. He sits at his desk, looks on ebay and makes it a point to be loud when he's explaining something you don't understand, so everyone else in the class knows what you don't know. After he takes attendence, almost 80% of the class leaves. On days he returns test, we are not allowed to ask him any questions that regards to how he graded the test, but he says we can ask him next time, next time comes around and he still doesn't want you to ask him questions.:confused3 I'm pretty sure he's a nice guy, but he certainly doesn't inspire me at ALL!! Next week is my last week:woohoo::banana::dance3: and then no more of MR. POSITIVE PANTS anymore.

My worst were science teachers...
Mr. Newsome in 7th grade
Mr. Sikorski in 9th grade
Ms. Myers in 10th grade
:scared:

My faves were my 5th grade teacher Mr Mullen
and my senior year, senior seminar teacher Jim Smith... He was sooo awesome!

Best teacher? High school Latin -- all four years with the same teacher -- he rocked.

Worst? 8th grade homeroom and social studies teacher -- what a miserable witch.

I'll give a (dis)honorable mention award to my second quarter ancient Greek professor. He really was evil.
