Best/Worst Pool home experiences?

We are looking for a pool home in February. Because it's last minute, the areas most people have commented on (Windsor Palms, Emerald Island) are not available. While there seem to be plenty of others I'm very nervous about not knowing exactly what I'm getting.

Has anyone rented in Esprit, Glenbook, Calabay Parc or some place other than the most popular? What about the Kissimmee area? They all sound great to read the descriptions. Also, which subdivisions, houses and/or management companies did people have bad experiences with?

I can't speak for the ones you mentioned, but I have stayed in Oak Island Cove which is between Windsor Palms and Emerald Island and would recommend the area. Other neighborhoods nearby (although I haven't personally stayed there) are: Indian Creek, Oak Island Cove, Oak Island Harbor, Rolling Hills, & Formosa Gardens.

I'd recommend looking in these areas through www.vrbo.com. Also, for Windsor Palms, have you tried http://www.windsor-palms-florida.net. This is a list of homes by individual owners. The site seems to be having trouble for me tonight, but I've used both of these before to find homes, condos, or town homes.

You would be unlucky to get a "bad " community as the HOA's are hot on keeping things together .Sure some of them are older than others but it is down to the individual home rather than the estate that will let things slide .The ones you mentioned and others in the area of Esprit

Lake Davenport Estates -which is by Bahama Bay
Hampton Lakes as well as other communities that are being built along the 27 are all great.
