I've been going to the health club and boy am I sweating!! I'm wearing the proper shoes but I don't have any real "workout" clothes. I'm using some old chino shorts and large cotton t-shirts and regular white socks.

Would investing in Cool-Max or other clothes help me stay any cooler??? What do you like to work out in?

I found the greatest work out clothes at sams club..yep, sams club.

The pants are reebok capris..very comfy..and the tops....just a lycra knit at $7.94 a piece..very comfy. Lots of colors. Oh, and they also had some great shorts...black and navy with like one or two stripes down the side..also very comfy and inexpensive.

All so far have washed and dried beautifully, have not shrunk or faded really. I am impressed.

Like you, I have read about the clothes that keep the sweat from your body and such..one day I will head to sports authority to check them out.

I picked up a couple of Addidas shirts and shorts at our local Academy sports store. They're a little more expensive, but well worth the investment. It's far more comfortable to work out in than regular cotton t-shirts and the fabric "breathes" unlike t-shirts that stick to you when you sweat.

Thanks for the replies! I think it may be time for a shopping trip! :)

ANyone know where they may carry plus sizes in the 'cool max' type clothing? I'm hitting WDW in four weeks, so I'll be 'training' in some heavy duty humidity! I go shopping for new sneakers this week also......so they'll be broken in for the WDW 10K in eight weeks. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ::yes::

(Sorry, Doreen......not a 'hijack', um, an addendum?)

Jackie, no problem!! :p

There was another post about walking shoes that I replied to today - Ryka was the brand name but find the post for the model of walking shoe.

I know I love my Saucony running shoes (even though I only walk in them :p ).

The walking shoes were the Ryka Sportwalker III..if they don't have them in stock..they sell out quickly, try ladyfootlocker.com.

I also love my Ryka crosstrainer...Light XT...it is fantastic.

Jackie- I found some really cute plus size cool max work out clothes on www.Junonia.com they have great swim suits as well. Try these catalog numbers in the search function-

194152, 101312, 194426, 194421
also-
198516, 101318, 1****2, 231400, and 231301

These are all workout clothes under the "Kwik wick" label. Sorry, it's the only way I know to get you to the exact product to look at it. These are in the catalog- and like I said- they're really cute.

I just bought a pair of DMX Reebox and am amazed at how comfy they are for running. The toe box is larger so your feet don;t get smaxhed and can breathe a bit. Go them at the Outlet mall for 39.00.
