Best Wii deal this season?

QVC had a huge sale over the weekend...console and loads of accessories for $250 (not really big savings, but a good one-stop-shopping deal).

I just saw 5 original Wii's on clearance at my local Target for $131.

What does "original" mean exactly?

I went to Target last night and bought the black bundle (which includes Sports and Sports Resort, and the Remote Plus). They were also offering the white bundle and the red bundle for the same price. It was regular price of $199 and then I used their $20 coupon, so I ended up paying $179. This is slightly more than the $169 Best Buy will be offering on Black Friday, but without any lines!

I will go back to Target on Black Friday, however, to attempt to purchase an extra remote... the Remote Plus is bundled with the FlingSmash game for $39 (basically the game is free).

Target also is having some fairly good sales on games, that day, so I'll see what I can get.

That deal at WalMart seems like it might be a little better, but I didn't want to mess with the aftermarket remotes.

I think the Motion plus is now built into the controllers; on the original white set you had purchase the extra plug in piece to feel the motion. (I could be wrong though, as I did not look THAT closely at the box. I had my red sticker goggles on.) ;)

I went ahead and got the red bundle at target.. it was $199 and i used the $20 off.. It was $190 and change out the door. If I find a better deal, I will return it... but I didn't feel like fighting crowds for one;)

I haven't been over to Target, yet... I was planning to head there after work to pick up my Wii system using the coupon... but, are you saying that it comes with the old remotes? I definately want remotes with Motion Plus.

This is what I learned: the black and red have the newer remote-allin one motion and it's smaller. I exchanged the white one for the black one. only difference bet black and red is the game.

Amazon has a deal where you get a $50 credit towards future game purchase when you buy the white bundle.

I was on Wal-Mart's site checking over and over as their deals came up and the red Wii bundle for $249 was sold out from the start. Maybe it'll come up tomorrow since it's not supposed to start until tomorrow at 5am but from what I've read, their items that aren't supposed to come online until tomorrow are already showing up.

Best Buy has the red Mario bundle included in their $169 bundle deals. I thought it was only supposed to be the black and white ones, but the red one is coming up at the same price as well.

I just can't decide if I want to get the red one or for $20 more get the white and end up with a $50 credit. I do a lot of shopping on amazon so I'm pretty sure I'll use it. I'm also wondering if they'll come up with something better on amazon.

On amazon, I also got white nunchuks for $7.95+$4.00 shipping for a total of $11.95 each (they're not Prime eligible). The black ones aren't reduced, only the white ones.

The Wal-Mart advertised deal is online right now. If you want Epic Mickey then it's a good deal at $249. Here's the breakdown on the value.

$199.99 red Mario bundle (black also available)
$ 19.99 nunchuk
$ 39.99 remote Plus
$ 49.99 Epic Mickey
=======
$309.96

Basically you're getting the nunchuk and remote free if you'd be buying Epic Mickey anway.

From what I understand stores are required to sell Nintendo product basic packages for the same price--ie..the Wii for $199--the deals come when they offer packages (extra games, etc.) or discounts for future purchases ($50 gift card etc.) At least this was the policy stores had with Nintendo when the Wii first came out, it doesn't seem to have changed much (except those really cheap DS's that Walmart has today, but they are the older ones--not DSi or XL).

We bought DS the red Wii system on a pre-order back in October. It was $199 with the Mario game and a sports game. I searched high and low for another red controller and nunchuck, but it doesn't appear they are available. They have non-Nintendo ones (I strongly do not recommend these, I have these in my classroom for an interactive whiteboard and they are horrible.) I guess we'll have to go with black--it bugs me terrible that they won't match, DS will care-a-less....so I guess I'll deal with it!

I agree that it's frustrating that they're not making the red controllers. Nintendo came out with a blue and a pink remote so why not a red one to go with the console? I got 2 blacks and red and my nunchuks are white but I'll have the red console. I've read the same thing about the non-Nintendo controllers so I made sure to buy only Nintendo made ones. Great reminder for all of us; thank you!

A couple years ago when I was looking for a DS for my kids I was told the same thing about Nintendo products. Nintendo will remove a store as a supplier if they sell one of their products for a price below what Nintendo has stated must be the price. I think this might be the first year I've seen even the bonus with purchase offers that I'm seeing this year (gift cards or games) but I really wasn't paying attention before this year so maybe I'm wrong.

Amazon has been selling the Red, White, Black bundles for $169.99 (appears only white is left at this point).

Remember, by keeping an eye out for deals on everything separate, sometimes you can get a good or better deal instead of the bundle.

Here's what I did:
- Red Limited @ Target - $179.99 (with $20 coupon, bought on Monday)
- FlingSmash with Wii Remote Plus @ Amazon - $29.99 (lightning deal; don't really care for the FlingSmash so I see it as getting the remote for $29.99)
- Wii Nunchuk controller @ Amazon - $17.54

Total = $227.52 (red console, 3 games, extra wii remoteplus & nunchuk)

For me that worked out better than the Walmart bundle deal of $249 & I didn't have to stand in line @ BestBuy to save $10.

If I would have waited maybe I could have got the Red console on Amazon today @ 169.99 (lighting deal savings of $10) but then again I would have had to
1- Catch the deal in time (which I tried just to see and I didn't, was on waitlist, could have gotten the black or white though)
2- waited for it to ship
So I guess I didn't do to bad.

I said all of that say, definitely shop around & weigh all options, sometimes you can make your own "deal" :)

I did similar to you SnoopyB. I posted the Wal-Mart bundle but IMO I did better with yesterday's $199.99 that got me a $50 GC for Amazon. I do a lot of shopping on Amazon so for me that was even better than today's lightening deal since I will end up spending that $50 anyway. I have Prime (free over the holidays by joining the mom's thing) so it'll be here early next week which is in time for me to use it as a family Chanukah gift. The Wal-Mart deal though includes the Epic Mickey and if somebody was wanting that anyway then the remote and nunchuk are basically free (I'm not planning on getting it any time soon so not a factor for me but it may be for others).

I also got the FingSmash with remote even though I didn't want the game just because it was cheaper than buying the remote on its own. Great minds think alike! I also got nunchuks even cheaper from the Amazon Outlet yesterday though that deal seems to be gone now. I was showing the prices that are found in most stores. Amazon seems to be about the only place I'm seeing controllers in any way reduced.

It's definitely worthwhile shopping around for the various components and checking the breakdown to make sure a bundle really is what's best for you as an individual. Great reminder; thank you!!!

I did not read the whole post but in case no one has mentioned it yet, Amazon has a link on their site for black firday deals (top right corner on home page) and on it is a Wii with sports and resort for $169. I think there is like 20 minutes left on the deal.

Just was able to pick up Red Wii online @ BestBuy with in-store pickup for $169.99. So I will take back the one I got from Target ($179.99).

New Total = $217.52 (red console, 3 games, extra wii remoteplus & nunchuk) :goodvibes

Just got the red one from Best Buy for $169.00. Now I need an extra remote. Do those ever go on sale? They are $38 on Amazon. Should I get it, or wait for a sale?

Did anyone see the deal WalMart is offering this week? They've got the red, black or white bundles for $199 with a bonus $50 gift card. That's better than the $179 I got at Target... taking that back and heading to WalMart.
