Best Western Raffles vs. Days Inn???

I've had it on very good authority that the Days Inn at 1111 South Harbour Blvd is clean and of a reasonable standard. However, for an extra $20 per night, I can get a Kids' Suite at the Best Western Raffles at 2040 South Harbour Blvd. (Kid's Suite = 1 queen bed in the main room, bunk beds and queen sofa-bed in adjoining room.) Both hotels offer comp. breakfast and have refridgerator and microwave in the rooms. Although the price differential is minimal, we're staying for 9 days, so it adds up. So, all you Disney Experts out there - would you go for the Suite or save the $$$$ (My kids are aged 8 and 5).

Also, on the maps I've been able to view on-line, both hotels look to be about the same distance from the Main Gate - is this true in real life?? Are either of them "walking distance" for a five-year old?

Sorry I haven't stayed at either one. I have read decent reviews of both and they both look like okay places to stay as I have driven around looking at all the different accomodations.
According to Map Quest The Day's in is a bit less than half a mile to the entrance to Disney Property and the Raffles is just a tad over a mile. Days Inn would require you cross the busy Ball Rd. Harbor Blvd intersection but is on the same side of the road as Disney. Raffles is well south of the busy Harbor Blvd. Katella Ave intersection and is on the far side of the street, but there may be more food opportunities down there.

We stayed at the Raffles Best Western a few years ago and it was your typical BW.

As I recall, the free cont'l breakfast was pretty lame tho, much less than in your average BW. We ended up going out for bfst each day. But it was clean and quiet and met our other needs just fine.

This summer, we're staying at the Candycane Inn and can't wait!!!
