OK, we alwaystay at DLH. DH loves it and it doesn't bother him about the $$$$. But now my DMIL wants to join us. I just looked up thecost of two rooms online and WOW!!!
So I think I have him talked into the BBWPPI since it is right there. We will book it through AAA with our tickets. I know we will get the coupon book, TTMM, character call...... But what will we get with MM entries??

What about reviews? Who's stayed there?? Good and Bad???

What about Breakfast? When does it start and what's on it??

Nice pool and hottub. Laundry which I use atleast once.

Great walk...right across the crosswalk on Harbor.

Thanks for the review. I will be staying there for the first time next month with my best friend and then again in June with my family. We don't need anything fancy and I love how close it is to the parks.

This is my favorite hotel for location. I have stayed maybe 30 or more nights there over the past 7 or 8 years. Recently we started branching out a little further because of cost. But Best Western Park Place is still my first choice hotel when I can afford it.

The Hotel breakfast is nothing to plan on to me. We dont even use it. You do have a choice to go upstairs for some cereal, hard boiled eggs and pastry or eat down stairs and get a pancake but drinks are not included down stairs and very very expensive. We dont do either now. I prefer to have a light bite to eat in the hotel room and eat a real breakfast in the park. Of course my husband does have Muscular Dystrophy so the stairs are not a good thing for him so thats a big reason we carry our own continential breakfast in the room. They do provide microwaves and refrigerators too in the room.

I love being able to walk across the street to the main entrance. I have never had MM entry so cant help you there. Its attached to the ticket not the hotel. We have annual passes and no MM entry with that.

My favorite place to stay is the last room on the office side second floor. Its out of the way and private so nobody walking by our window. Its a king size bed with pull out couch.

We always stay at the hotel right next to the BWPPI and the walk can't be beat. I think the restaurant is Captain Kidds, but like the other poster wrote - you just get a certificate for free pancakes there. You have to pay for everything else. Or you can use the continental the hotel provides. Even if it does offer much, we always eat at our hotel's breakfast, and then eat an early lunch in the park (to beat the crowds).

We have always bought Park Hopper bonus tickets from the Disney Store, and Early Entry was just part of the ticket (not a seperate ticket or anything). They scan your ticket on the way in, so you can only use it for one EE. I assume it will be the same way for your MM.

Well, I know I am in the minority here, but we had a pretty bad experience at the BWPPI. Especially if you are used to the DH, it is quite a downgrade.

We arrived and found out that we couldn't get the room we wanted because they were renovating all the King rooms at the time. So this was not a great start. We then had to pay more to get a suite so that all 4 of us would fit comfortably. We are used to our King bed and the double bed just didn't cut it. The room itself was extremely dark even with the curtains open. The tub was beyond disgusting (a permanent yellow color with permanent brown stains throughout), but as I said they were in the middle of renovating so hopefully this problem is fixed by now. The pool is very small, especially if you are used to the DH, and always packed. And they only had one washing machine working at the time. We actually packed up and left after one night and moved to the HoJo, which is a bit further but in my opinion, much nicer. More light, and more space. And then we actually moved again, staying at the DH for our last 3 nights. We just love it there.

Until this trip, I was always under the impression that really the hotel doesn't matter that much when going to Disneyland. You are there to go to the parks, and not there for the hotel. But this trip changed all that. We found the rooms at the BWPPI very depressing. The HoJo rooms were much better, but we just love the DH. Going back to the DH at the end of the day - for us, it made the difference. That is just us. We love being able to take the Monorail back for a quick swim, or rest. We love the pool, the ground, the waterfalls, the feeling of Disney everywhere. For us, there is a magical feeling there. The only downside is the price. It is very expensive to stay there.

If cost is an issue, as it sounds to be, I would look into the HoJo.

We stayed at BWPPI in December based on the good reviews we'd read. I was a little concerned about the parking since one of the main complaints seemed to be that the spaces were tight and parking was tough. They were in the middle of repaving the lot when we were there so maybe they've made the spaces larger, but we had no problems parking. They give you a pass and there is security patrolling the lot so we never had a problem finding a spot and usually parked close to our room. I'd also read to request one of the remodeled rooms, and one away from the restaurant. Our request was granted, and the room was fine. I'm not a hotel snob by any means - we really can't afford to be. I'd love to be able to say that I only stay in five star resorts but that's a splurge for now. My basic requirements are very clean, quiet, and safe - anything else is gravy. BWPPI fulfilled our requirements. The location can not be beat - I think it is the closest hotel to the parks (except for the GC). In fact, we went to DL last month for a one day blitz and we parked at the parks and took the tram. We walked much further parking in the lot and using the tram than when we were staying at BWPPI. We have a four year old so we really needed to nap in the afternoons and it was perfect for us. We liked the hotel, but not enough that we wouldn't try one of the hotels next to it like the Tropicana next time. The hotels are so close together that it really is only a matter of an extra two or three minute walk....then again, an extra two minutes carrying a heavy four year old back to the room really does make a difference! The staff was also very helpful and friendly. The fridge was great for storing milk, yogurt and fruit - we didn't use the microwave. You get the usual cable TV channels, not that we watched much TV anyways. Didn't use the laundry but it looked like a standard coin operated laundry room. Didn't use the pool - it was December and we never really had time anyways. If you're looking for a decent room that you're using mainly for sleep, and location is your primary concern I would definitely recommend the BWPPI.

Is the continental breakfast served in the hotel or the restaurant?

Right next door to the hotel is a restaurant. Down stairs is your typical Denny looking restaurant but not so clean looking to me. Thats where you can get the pancake if you go that route.

Then upstairs is a lot of booths and buffet type serving area. Thats where the continential breakfast is.

The restaurant is litterly between the Hotel and the crosswalk to Disneyland.

The ala carte pancake breakfast is served on the ground floor of the restaurant. The free continental breakfast is on the second floor of the restaurant. You enter the restaurant and go upstairs, the hostess will direct you.

We stayed at the BWPPI last October for 5 nights and IMHO the location was the only thing it had going for it. The rooms were on the small and dark side. The pool was dirty and shady for the majority of the day. We stayed there because of the location and the continental breakfast....after the first breakfast, we didn't go back. Not only was there a poor selection but the breakfast room was disgustingly filthy.
The staff were friendly and the location was great, but that's about it. There are much nicer hotels at a cheaper price. We are going again in May and are staying at the HOJO for $74 (entertainment rate)

We most likely would not do the continental breakfast. If not for any other reason as it does not sound convenient. We're ordering from Von's and I can get some muffins from there. We don't do coffee so we aren't too worry about that. We won't be swimming as we will be there in November. We will only be sleeping there and we won't have a car. BUT...........................
Our biggest concern is location. Hojo looks a lot farther away and DMIL has bad knees so when it's time for her to go nack, we want it to be a safe close walk.
Anyone think we should bite the bullet and just stay at DLH???

From what i hear and have seen DL hotel is farther of a walk then BWPPI.... but DLH is much nicer! even if bwppi was a fancy place nothing stands up to DLH..... walk i would say BWPPI.... fancy i would say DLH... its just where you would feel better staying!

If we stay at DLH we would have the monorail. I know it still will require her to walk but it will cut that part down some. But is it worth the extra $$$ as we are cover the trip for her

The BWPPI is about the same distance to the disneyland gate as DLH is to the monorail, fyi.

We have stayed there numerous times with no problems. Can't beat the price or location, IMHO. We do go to the continental bkfast --they have pastries, bagels, fruit, toast, cereal, etc. Plenty of options.

Thats what i noticed... since DTD was put in it seems like the monorail is farther from the hotel then before... but its still closer then walking through DTD
