My oldest DD loves Tinkerbell. I'd love to surprise her by taking her to Tinkerbell's Treasures to wake up Tinkerbell.

We were thinking of going to MK on Extra Magic Hour day (Thursday???) We stay at OKW so breakfast usually is eaten in our suite. However, if having a breakfast PS can get us in before the park opens, we may try it. So here are my questions...

(1) If we got a PS at Chrystal Palace for the breakfast buffet, will we be able to get in before the park opens and make it over to Tinkerbell's Treasures afterward? Or will it be too late?

(2) On EMH days, can you get in even earlier for a breakfast PS?? Or do the restaurants open at the same time as normal hour days?

(3) Or would it be better to forget the PS, just get there at opening, and go straight to Tinkerbell's?

I know she would get a real kick out of this. Thanks so much.

I'd say get there at opening and go right to Tinkerbelle's Treasures. :)

We had an 8:10 PS at Crystal Palace on our trip this past Spring and we weren't out of there till at least 9:30, if not later. By that time she's sure to be awake

Not sure if they allow PS's in early during EMH. But if you get an 8:05 PS during a non-EMH then you shouldn't have any problem at all. Not positive what times the stores open so you may be standing there waiting for an hour but if its that important to do then I'm sure you wouldn't mind doing that.

That's what I started thinking after I started this thread. I'll bet the store is not open for EMH, but when it does, we'll probably be there at fantasyland anyway (always our first stop in the MK) We will give it a shot.

I'd really like to try to get my DD to do this, but it's not going to make or break my day. If I have to stand at the door an hour before it opens, forget it. We'd rather be riding!

Of course, my daughter does not know about this! She would be crushed if I told her and she wasn't the first there. I was kind of hoping it would be a little surpise for her.

Thanks so much everyone!

I had planned to do the very same thing on our trip last week, we had a Ps at the Crystal palace for 8:05 but, you can't get past the castle that early because it is gated at the end of the castle, so we ate Bkfast and hightailed it over there, and I asked but she was alreaday awake, and I told the lady working there that my dh really wanted to do it, so they sort of pretended that she was taking a nap, and let my dh wake her up again, there really wasn't much to it but my dh got a little kick out of it. My son went over and looked in the dresser and said that's not real she's just plastic so then we had to sort of smooth that over. Kids somehow know just when to say the right thing. Hope this helps you make your decision.

What exactly happens when you wake Tink up? Sounds like she is sleeping in a dresser - do you just see lights twinkle? I am trying to figure out if I should try to do this with my kids.

Thanks!

My DD did this on our May visit. We had a PS for CRT at 8:00 a. By the time we finished, it was 8:55 a. We stood by the rope and waited until it dropped, then walked right into Tinkerbell's Treasures. The CM asked if we were there to wake Tinkerbell and of course we said yes. My daughter really enjoyed it.

In May, the store did open at 8:00am, for EMH. We were waiting at the Magic Kingdom gates waiting for the gates to open. When they opened the gates, DH ran through the park to Tinkerbell's Treasures, and I came as fast as I could with DD6. DH got there first, told them his daughter was coming, and then someone walked in right after him wanting to wake up Tink. The CM's saved it for us! It made DD's day!

I've never seen it but your description sounds about right. They let the first child in the store do it, although I'd be satisfied if they let my DD wake her from a nap.

My DD loves Tinkerbell, every item she chooses from the Disney Store has Tink on it.

We are hoping to get to do this as well. Wish us luck! However, I've heard that Tinkerbell "flies" around the store throughout the day. Anyone seen this?

What happens is: The child is invited to come behind the counter to the box where Tink sleeps. The CM gives the child a magic wand, and tells her a special verse to say. When she says it and waves the wand over the box, the box lights up, and then you see Tink's light trail go all over the store. Then they give the child a special certificate to keep that says she was the one to wake up Tink that day.

So you don't actually "see" Tink, just the lights dancing all over the store. I think they keep the lights going at different times of the day, so if you stop in and Tink is already awake, you should be able to see her "flying" aroung the store.

Was the child with the second person that walked in? Would it have been possible for the kids to do it together? I always thought the child had to be there when the request was made.

I can just picture parents racing through the parks to get the the store first. :moped:

I think the first CHILD that gets to the store should get to wake Tink. If several kids get there at the same time, then let them all take part.

My daughter was the first one in the store one morning. The CM went in the back room to go get the magic wand so she could wake up Tink and as soon as she returned anouther little girl ran in wanting to wake up Tink. The dissapointment on her face when she saw the CM hand my daughter the wand broke my heart.:sad1: However the CM saved the day and asked if she would like to join my daughter in waking up Tink.:cheer2: It was priceless to watch them to it together. :hyper2:

I'm not sure if the adults who came in right after DH had the child with them or not. Apparently the CM's didn't suggest that the children do it together. I would have been fine with that, but I didn't know about it until later.

The best way to wake up Tinkerbell is to rub her tummy...oh, wait. That's our cat!
