Best way to waitlist??

We will be going to WDW towards the latter half of President's Day week, a busy time I understand. We have all but one of our days booked in a 1BR at VWL. Of course the one day I couldn't get is on day 2 of our stay, so I booked a 1br at OKW and am waitlisted at VWL. This day of the week is a Thursday if that matters. My question (yes, I have one) is whether or not I should switch day 1 of our trip to OKW also just in case our waitlist doesn't come through. That way we would only have to move our things once instead of twice. But we are still 5 months out from our trip, so do you think that one day will probably open up between now and late Feb? The CM who booked our trip said the fewer days we're asking for, the better chance we have of having our waitlist come through, so maybe we should just keep our reservation as is? Also, is it normal for our waitlist request NOT to show up anywhere on the confirmation letter you get in the mail or on the dvc web site under our vacation details? I am new to dvc, thanks for any help!

I agree with the CM - shorter length wait lists have a better chance of coming through. If you alter things now, you will go to the bottom of the wait list for those two days and then you will need the two days to come through at the same time, instead of just the one day you are missing. DVC will not "hold" a day waiting for something else to come through to make a match.


Wait lists do not show up on the website or on your confirmation letter. If your wait list comes through, the new reservation will show up on the website. That is what posters mean when they say they are checking the website to see if their wait list came through. You should also receive a snail letter confirmation letter showing the new reservation.

You're welcome - I know firsthand that it's very hard to wait. My waitlist for a Saturday night at the BWV just came through - about 2 weeks before arrival.

FWIW, I think your waitlist will eventually come through as well, hopefully SOON! Good luck!
